First Aid Question

I had ACL/meniscus surgery. I'm mostly recovered, but if I push my knee hard it hurts and swells a little.

Would I be able to go to first aid to ice and massage it? Do they have ice available? Basically I wanted to know if this was an acceptable use of first aid or not.

They should have ice. If beds are available you can also request the ability to lay down and elevate the knee if need be. They also have ibuprofen if you need it and possibly other otc pain relievers. We have gone to first aid several times for minor things like blister help, bandaids from cuts, getting ice after a fall etc.

Yes you can use first aid and they have ice along with some OTC

YES! They have both ice and (free!) Advil. Also, I have gotten a gift bag from shops and asked kiosk vendors if I could have some ice from the bin where they cool the drinks!

Maybe invest in a refillable ice bag (the old style kind with the screw top) to carry with you - you should be able to get ice just about anywhere in the parks. That way you don't have to go all the way to first aid just for an ice pack.

You totally can get ice at first aid however you may want to run to Walmart prior to your trip and grab the ice packs that get cold when you crush them. I have to keep them with me due to my health issues and sometimes I need attention before I would be able to get to first aid. You get two in a box for I think around $4 or so where we live over in the pharmacy dept. Just a thought if you are not always by first aid.
