First-Aid Centres in Parks

Just wondering (cause I've never paid attention) how many first aid centres there are in each of the parks? Is there more than one near the front gate?

DH recently out of cast for broken leg and dislocated ankle still gets swollen and would like to be able to ice a few times a day for 5-10 minutes. Is this something that could be done there?

Thank you.

Each park has 1 First Aid Center.

MK is near Caseys on Main Street
AK is just past Pizzafari
EP is between TT and Mexico
STudios is near the entrance

Yes your Dh can ice his ankle at FA. You may want to consider keeping a zip lock bag with you and just ask for ice whenever you take a break. That way you are not hiking back to a First Aid Center.

What livndisney wrote ::yes::

You can get ice from any counter service or full service restaurant. You can just ask for a cup or 2 of ice.
Before you go, look for an old fashioned ice bag made of cloth with a screw on top. Those are much less trouble than a zip lock bag because they don't leak or have as much condensation on the outside as zip lock bags and they are also safer for the skin because there is a little insulation from the cloth.
I've seen those bags at pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS or in the pharmacy department of Target and Walmart.

Thanks everyone. Instead of going out and looking for an old fashioned ice bag think will bring along ziploc bags and a small washcloth instead.

One first aid station per park seems silly, considering the size of each park. :confused3

Each First Aid center is staffed by at least two RNs at all times when the Park is open. For anything more serious than First Aid, there are Alpha Units (Paramedics/Rescue Squads) backstage with a vehicle.

The first aid stations are made to walk in and get a simple thing, like tylenol...the big problems they come to you...the rescue unit, RN, both...they are super quick. I agree to take things to ice down as you go. Much easier and then you can do it whenever you need too.

...and depending on how long since the injury the real issue may be keeping it elevated, and not ice to decrease the edema. Be sure they drink water and keep it up when they can.
