I'm triyng to be strategic. My initial idea was to bring my own ice packs from home and try to keep them frozen at the hotel. Probably won't work.
Ice packs help control my core temp a bit and I would rather rest a bit in the park and use ice packs then have to stop my day before lunch to head back to the hotel. Yes we will be taking the mid day break but my question is at first aid will i be able to lay down rest and get ice packs. If I need multpile ice packs is there a charge? Also we've never used first aid when we've visited. Does anyone know off the top of their head where they are in each park and is there only one or are there multiples scattered around the parks?

Each park has one FA.
MK near Caseys
AK near Pizzafari on the way to Safari
HS at the entrance to the park
EP between Test track and Mexico

You can rest and lay down at first aid. I have not been charged for ice packs, but usually get one or two.

We've gotten a single ice pack in the past - no charge. They've been great. We even got an examination and diagnosis last year! They sent us to the emergency room and their diagnosis was correct - with medication our trip continued with little adjustment because of the early diagnosis. Love those people. I even lost buttons on my blouse once and they fixed that too with a couple of safety pins.

You can also get free ice at any of the counter service restaurants. I have suggested in the past that people purchase one of the old fashioned ice bags with a screw on lid. Those hold a lot of ice, can be refilled where ever you are and when you don't need it, you can just empty and save it.
I'm not saying to NOT use First Aid, but an ice bag can be a nice addition to the 'tools' you can use to manage your condition, especially if you need cooling and are not close to First Aid.

Thanks for asking this question, My son (3 yrs old) is on an Epilepsy medication and it causes him not to sweat so he overheats quickly, I have bought some freezable ice packs and I will also bring some of those instant ice paks that you have to activate. Hoping to have a cooling vest by then. He got overheated today when we were in a store with no a/c only fans for 20 minutes, took almost an hour to have his color come back to normal with a/c blowing on him and him eating ice. I understand this, huge hugs! We are going the first week in March hoping that will help.
