DD20 and I are flying to LAX from Boston on Saturday. Staying two nights at doubletree. Buying 3 day PH. Plan to arrive at DLR by 2:30. Have used touringplans to create a four hour itinerary focusing on Adventureland rides.

I know we will want dinner before heading back to hotel. Can get a ressie at 7 pm at wine country trattoria. Thought it might be fun to get a first look at DCA. Is in too much trouble to switch parks just for dinner? Going to WOC Dessert party on Sunday night.

Thats fine. Its usually only a few minutes to get park to park, unless a parade or fireworks are starting and the lines get longer, but usually pretty quick getting into DCA. We often park hop for food as we tend to like the food at DCA better.

As others have said, park hopping is usually pretty easy. The two parks are less than 110 yards apart (you can see the entrance to DCA from inside DL's ticket gates and vice-a-versa). It usually takes less than 5 minutes to get out of DL and into DCA, but it might take a little longer if you're hoping when there are lines at the ticket gate. My family usually park hops at least once per day (sometimes more). Have a great meal!

Trattoria is one of my favorite places to eat. When you check in for your reservation be sure to tell them you want to be seated outside. It's much more relaxing and peaceful.

We almost always try to dine at DCA after a day of DL w/kids because by that time, we are ready for an adult beverage. After dinner, we head back over to DL for parades and fireworks and last rides. The only exception is if we want some kind of Fantasmic package..or back in the day, my kids really liked Big Thunder Ranch bbq.

We think Wine Country Trattoria is probably one of the better priced/better food of 'nicer' TS restaurants. We typically book the WOC package (which if you get there and aren't feeling that you want to stay for WOC / don't want the passes, you can switch down to regular menu).

We've eaten at wct a few times. I'm not impressed. It's ok. If you don't want the woc passes I'd try something else in the park. My fave restaurant in both parks is Boardwalk pizza & pasta. We usually get pasta and salad and share them.

If you want upscale, seated restaurant I'd go for carthay circle. Never been there-too cheap. But wct just isn't worth it imo.

I second Carthay. WCT is ok at best. If you're just going to the park for Dinner, you might as well do a TS that's going to take a little more time so you don't have to give up more park time later. Check out the Carthay Lounge menu, no ADRs, but that could be an option as well.
