DH an I are heading to WDW for our 10th wedding anniversary in December. This is our first trip without the kids (I had been a lot as a kid) and at Christmas Time. I'm so excited!! Any suggestions for things to make sure we see an do? We have CP ADRs for our actual anniversary and a Tusker House BF ADR but that's all I made so far. We plan to hit MVMCP on night an we have a full resort day to resort hop and check out all the holiday decorations. Any suggestions would be very helpful! We are driving so will have a car

First off, happy anniversary and Merry Christmas! If you've never been at Christmas time, you'll love it! Sounds like you've already got plans to hit MVMCP (think we're going the same day; Tuesday 12/4). While you're there, be sure to catch the Xmas parade, enjoy the snow on Main St. and partake in the hot cocoa and cookies. At EPCOT they have the Candlelight Processional. We've done it once before with a dining package and it was pretty good. You can do it without a dining package but seats are harder to come by. They also have story tellers in most (not sure if they are in each) lands in WS that talk about Xmas festivities and traditions in that country. At AK they have a special Xmas parade but I've never seen it so I can't say anything about it. One of the best special Xmas events is at DHS: the Osbourne Lights. It's an absolute must do during the Xmas season. DON'T MISS IT! It's also great to check out some of the resorts especially the Grand Floridian and the Yacht & Beach Club. I think if you can hit most of those, you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself during your visit.

See you at MVMCP! :santa:

Congratulations on your 10th and your upcoming trip! You will have an amazing trip, I am sure! My DH and I will be celebrating our 20th next year and we are trying to decide between WDW during the Food & Wine Festival or a trip to the Bahamas. Of course, everyone says go to the Bahama's but they just don't understand our LOVE of Disney.

As far as ideas for Disney without kids, one of the things DH & I want to do most is spend more time at World Showcase. With the kids, it always seems we breeze through the countries at clock speed. I would love to leisurely stroll and browse all the shops in each location. What better time to do that for you then at Christmas?!?!?! Another thing we want to do is try beer & other alcoholic drinks from around the World. That is something we don't do with our kids in tow! :rotfl: Obviously that is not for everyone though!

There are a few of the nicer restaurants I want to try when we go without our kids. One is The Brown Derby at Disney Studios and the other is California Grille at the Contemporary. With 3 kids those locations would be too pricey! I want to do the California Grille then watch the fireworks at MK from the balcony at the Contemporary.

My DH wants to scuba dive at Epcot (he recently became certified). So I will probably take in a Disney spa (I do NOT dive). We also thought about doing one of those segway tours.

Another thing I want to do is ride Small World a dozen times. My kids hate the ride (shame on them) and it is one of my favorites (it always has been since I was a little girl). I make them ride at least once every trip and they are gracious enough not to make fun of me but you can tell they are enduring it for me. :confused3

Good luck and have fun planning for your trip!!! :yay:

Happy Anniversary!! We love California Grill for a romantic evening. We did book tell them it was our anniversary and managed to get a table at the window to watch the fireworks. I love going to the hotels and especially the Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread houses. If you like gingerbread they have a house at the GF they sell it from and they print their gingerbread recipe for anyone that wants a copy. The lights at DHS are also a must see.

In the past we have often dedicated a few hours to driving around to all the hotels to check out the decorations. There is actually a gingerbread display at each of the deluxe locations. The trees at each location are so pretty and it is fun to be able to see all of it.

We also liked sitting on the beach in front of the Poly watching the fireworks.

As much as the nicer restaurants are wonderful...and frankly you can't go wrong with any of them...the really romantic magic is in the little quiet things that you will do together. Happy Anniversary.:thumbsup2

Our family does the same thing! So beautiful. This past year Epcot was really sparsely decorated. We were very surprised. In contrast, MK was beautifully and fully decorated.
