Good Saturday morning FIRMies......
Well this morning was Complete Body Sculpting with Christa Riley. She designed this tape to go heavy with the weights. I really love the Hubba Bubba song that they play during one of the cardio box segments. I think that Stephanies tape was much harder. I could barely lift with the muscles she used in that one. This one was good though and went very quick.
One thing I must say is that I really love the incline on the box for lunges and doing pec fly's. You get such a range of motion doing pec fly's!! I also really liked doing push-ups with your leg on the incline and hands on the floor. Probably the best push ups I ever did (this was in Stephanies tape).
I also did the 2 new Pam tapes I got by ordering the Deluxe BSS3 system. The first one was FIRM Hips, Thighs and Abs. This tape is set up so you can do either the FIRM hips and Thighs or just abs. When you get done with the hips and thighs she tells you to add start the ab section to add on the abs to the hips and thighs section. The hip and thigh section was tough!! At the beggining of the tape, my thighs were shaking. I have to get used to the sections that have you keep your leg out and use the sculpting stick. I had a hard time balancing the stick and doing the work. I didn't get a great workout today, because I had already worked out and was just getting used to what she was doing and trying to balance the stick. It seemed like it would be a great workout though and I love that you do it while you are BAREFOOT!! The ab section was really good. There was no warm up except for sweeping arms side to side, so this is a great ab workout to add on to the end of a tape without an ab -workout without having to spend time either doing or fastfarwding a warm-up. I still am trying to get used to the ab work on the incline. Its tough and hard to hold yourself up. I am using a towel now, but plan to get a yoga sticky mat.
The next tape I did was Pams Express Total Body Shaping tape. This uses only a sculpting stick (no box or dumbells). Its 35 minutes. I love how you use your own body for resistance on a lot of moves. This was tough for a 35 minute workout with now weights. Aerobics mixed in here and there to keep your heart rate up. This would be a great tape to take on vacation and do in your hotel room. We take our portable DVD player for the kids, so it would only require bringing my stick.
I ended up exercising again for more than 2 hours, but I feel really good. Saturday is a great day to get a tough workout in.
Sue- Great job on Standing legs. That is definately a tough tape, and the one time I tried it I couldn't do it because my knees were bothering me. Now that my knees are better, I should try it again. I hear it is killer!!
The BSS3 does have the new fancy step, but 2 of the add on tapes use the sculpting stick. The Express Total Body Shaping only uses the stick and nothing else.
vfb2girls- Way to go getting all your M-F workouts in. It's so addicting. Just wait till you get stronger and you find you have a hard time taking time off!! Who would ever think it!!
danicaw- Take it easy with your wrist. Don't do any lifting with it. I agree with the Ab sculpt. Just take it easy, or you will cause more damage, and that isn't good!
LISA- Way to go on your weight loss. OMG you are at Goal!! I'll wait till it's official though so I don't jinx you! Congrats!
The BSS3 has a new FIRM box that is longer , has a 6 inch section and goes up to 14 inches. It also can be used with one leg down at an incline. I really like the incline. 2 of the new add on tapes use the sculpting stick. The rest do not.
Do I prefer it over BSS2, tough question. They are both totally different. I think since I started with BSS2, I am partial to those. The new box is really cool and different though. These workouts are tough and fun. There is a great deal right now for the BSS3 with the box for 59. Also, there is a special for the BSS2 for $59 that inludes the box and the sculpting stick. I guess it just depends. I have seen the BSS2 in just DVD's at
Walmart. So if you already have a sculpting stick and fanny lifter that might be cheaper.
I would say both are worth getting. Maybe the BSS2 is the one you should do first. I reall love those workouts.
Amanda, Thats my favorite tape too. It's definately a tough video.
Tracy- Glad DH got you BSS2. That is what I started with and I love it!
s&k'smom- If you get the BSS3, I think you will LOVE it!
Kim- If you read this, I hope you are doing well. I hope you aren't feeling so blue anymore.
