Good morning firmies, back in office early and being compulsive started the thread again! Congrats to everyone for sticking to their goals. I can't wait to come in and touch base with all of you. Did ab sculpt this am and then my tv show and feel great. How is everyone?

Good morning FIRMies-

I did Body Sculpt and day 3 of 5-Day Abs today. Boy is Body Sculpt a tough workout. I was sweating bullets by the end. I really think its a tough workout because you do all lower body, then upper body. At least in Total Body Sculpt, there is lower/upper and cardio mixed throughout.

I didn't get to check in yesterday, but I did exercise. I started doing Calorie Killer 2, but it was so high impact it sounded so loud, so I stopped doing that about 1/3 the ways in and did Calorie Killer and by then I was so tired and I didn't know the steps so I stopped doing that to do Super Cardio Sculpt (which I love). I was so tired already at this point that it was difficult to finish super cardio sculpt. I ended up working out for over two hours. I was soaked and really tired. I guess it's good that I exercised more because I ate a few things in the afternoon I shouldn't have.

s&k'smom- Thanks for starting the thread, glad you got your workout in!!!

Have a great day everyone. Hope you had a good weekend.

Good morning FIRMies!

Wow! Yesterday I did Complete Aerobics and Weight Training with Emily for the first time. Whew! I think that is the most difficult of the three videos in BSS2. :crazy2: :faint: What I love about the video is how Emily explains the movements and how she encourages you to get through. (DD, age 3 loves this video because her name is Emily, too.:cutie: )

This morning, I woke up with a sore right hip and wasn't going to workout. However, I realized that I may not get to it later and so I put Cardio Sculpt Blaster in. I feel pretty good, but will soak in the tub later and put some Biofreeze on that hip.

If circumstances permit, we will be leaving for WDW in about five weeks. Until that time, it is my goal to FIRM 4-5 days a week and to start the South Beach diet next Sunday. When we take pictures at WDW this year, I want to look strong in them, even though I have not met my weight loss goal yet.

s&k's mom~ Thanks for starting the thread! Way to get that exercise in this morning! Woohoo! Hope you have a great day!:sunny:

Melanie~ Whew!:faint: Body Sculpt today and 2 hours of FIRM yesterday.... I'm tired just thinking about it! ;) That is wonderful that you got those workouts in. Body Sculpt is one tough workout! Keep up the good work Mel! :Pinkbounc

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Tracy:wave2:

FIRMIES!
I posted my return from WDW & my return to the FIRM at the end of week 4. I scanned the whole week & it sounds like you guys are doing great!
I'm glad to report that Monday weigh-in showed that I didn't gain any weight while at WDW, despite my hiatus from serious FIRM work. I enjoyed some fine dining, including some dessert-sharing & a glass of red wine here-and-there. But, as always, there was alot of walking.
Today marks my third day back with the FIRM. I selected Upper Body from the FIRM 4pack for this morning, a 40 minute routine that focuses entirely on your upper body (thus the name). A week in sleeveless tops only re-inforces the importance of working on those arms & shoulders.
DSs are still off from school, they get a 2 week vacation in March. Oldest DS has returned to FL for spring training with his high school baseball team. So quiet without him, but I'll have a great week for longer tapes in the AM. No school bus in the driveway & one less body to get out the door. I'm still undecided what tape it will be tomorrow. Maybe Tough Tape 2...
Have a happy & healthy day. SGG

My little boy has been waking up earlier and earlier lately and this morning the last thing I felt like was a workout, But I did it anyway and feel much better now.
I did Total Sculpt plus abs this morning, its the third time I have done it and am starting to get the moves. Whew...I don't feel so clumsy anymore. Tomorrow is my rest day... I hope to do some biking. Then back at it on Wednesday with Complete Aerobics and Weight Training.
Tracy - you are right about this workout, its tough.

I was soo bummed this weekend when I got on the scale. YUCK, I gained 2 pounds. After my week with working out 6 days of 7. What happened? I am trying very hard not to be discouraged and just keep at it. I am also going to work on my calorie intake a bit more - get out my food journal. Hopefully that will help the scale to move in the right direction.

Keep up all your workouts. Hearing about all your workouts is such great motivation for me to keep going. Thanks.

Good afternoon FIRMies!

I'm so sorry I haven't been around that regularly in the last few days. I've been crabby and in a blue mood:rolleyes: and just haven't felt like myself lately. I've still been working out, though, and I told Lisa (ZP) that doing all that punching and kicking and crunching is really a great stress and tension reliever!

This morning I was up very early and did Calorie Killer and Body Sculpt, then stretched out with my Cool It Off dvd. Why do I always forget how difficult the lower body section of Body Sculpt is?!:headache: Instructor Jen: "Now we'll do ANOTHER set of leg press..!" Me: "We're gonna !@*&%! do WHAT?!!!"

S&k'smom--Thanks for starting the thread and great job getting in your Ab Sculpt and TV workout! Which one do you do?

Hi Melanie! So you and I were working out with Jen together this morning! I just did Super Cardio Sculpt for the first time yesterday. The floor sections remind me a lot of more traditional aerobics--I haven't done ponies since the 80's! I don't know if it's just my tape, but the sound is so low I can barely hear the music. I do like the workout, though, but kept thinking how much better it'd be if Allie (it's like I'm the president of her fan club or something...) were leading it. Nancy just doesn't do it for me. She's obviously doing something right, though--I don't think there's an ounce of fat on her!

Hi Tracy! I'm glad you enjoyed CAWT--it's one of my all-time favorites, and that Emily is just as cute as a button. I think it's one of the best workouts Firm's ever done--really total-body, fun moves and good music. That one's on my Wednesday scedule!

Hi sueg! I'm glad you enjoyed your WDW trip, and a big congrats on getting right back into your workout routine! Ooooo, sleeveless shirts--I bet you looked just awesome!

Hi danica! Total Sculpt is a video I always feel the next day! Jen goes s-l-o-w and h-e-a-v-y on that one! Don't let your scale get you down! It could be something as simple as hydration combined with you working with weights. A good way to measure your progress is to take you measurements, and to just ask the simple question, "how do I FEEL?" I know that when I first started to exercise consistently, I could feel my progress earlier than I could see it on the scale. I felt stronger, had better posture and had much more of a positive outlook (endorphins?). Eventually, the scale will start to move in the right direction, especially if you're watching your caloric intake, but gauge your progress on how you're feeling and how you clothes are fitting--I think those are much more accurate measurements of your success!

Tomorrow is MCB + Abs!

Make today your best, Firmies!:sunny:

Afternoon my fellow Firmies:jester:

Just finished my 10 minutes of CS. Boy can 2 days of rest really get you our of sync with the moves on the tape. Still did ok though.
Tomorrow I introduce myself to Ab Sculpt. That should be fun. Gonna go watch it right now to see just how bad it is. I'm actually not sure how often I'll use this tape. My Pilates has done wonders for my abs and is still working, so we'll just wait and see.

Hope everybody is having a great day.

I hope I am welcomed to joining this board, I just invested in a set of Firm videos with the step, it is the older set, and I did the ab sculpt yesterday and just finish the cardio sculpt, great workout! What I need to know is that I will be looking for a few new firm videos to add to the collection and in everyone's opinion what would be the best to buy? I want to be able to buy them from a department store and not order on-line..any help would be much appreciated, thanks for any info.

Hi Firmies!

I only have a few minutes to check in with you all but I did read through the thread. Everyone is doing marvelous with their work outs. It's very inspiring so keep it up! I need all the encouragement I can get!

This morning was cardio sculpt blast and as I'm still learning the moves, it was a bit akward but I didn't quit. This makes 13 straigt days of working out with the FIRM for me!

vfb2girls - Welcome to FIRMing!! You mentioned you were looking to add a new video to our collection and I think cardio sculpt blast is a great addition. I got mine for $8 at Walmart and it's an efficient and fun 30 minute routine. I like that I can get a whole work out done warm up and cool down included in 30 minutes. You might want to consider this one.

sue - welcome back! I went back and read last week's thread and wanted to say how proud I am of you that you didn't gain on vacation and came back and restarted your routine. Good for you!

I'll try to stop by later. Make it a great work out!

Welcome vfb2girls and hope you have fun joining us.

This am was lower body sculpt I with Lisa Kay. Then I did my tv work out (Bodies in Motion with Gilad). I really like how I feel when I work out for an hour. Plus I blame all of you for getting me hooked on working out. I find I can't wait to get in and hook up with you guys when I work out.

If any of you guys have fit tv they have workouts through out the day and on Oxygen they have an hour long yoga show at 6am.

Good Morning FIRMies!:sunny:

This will have to be a real qickie, as I'm on my way to decorate a float for ds's school's Book Parade!

S&K'smom--Great job getting in your workout--I so wish we got FitTV!! FIRMing is addicting, isn't it?! I'm so glad that this addiction is GOOD for us, or I'd be in real trouble!

It was MCB + Abs for me this morning!

Have a Terrific Tuesday everyone!

FIRMIES!
Despite my resolve for longer tapes this week, youngest DS didn't get that memo. He is having sleep problems & got up at 4:30AM. He got back to sleep, but I didn't. I didn't have "long tape" energy. So it was Lisa Kay & Ab Sculpt. Gotta figure out what is up w/ DS. I think he may miss his brother, who in Fl, but he can't say it because last wk. he was wishing his brother was "out-of-his-life". Ah, siblings. I continue my resolve for Tough Tape 2 tomorrow.
Hope everyone gets to do the tape they want or enjoys their day-off!
Have a happy & healthy day. SGG

Hi FIRMies-

Today I did Calorie Killer (actually finished it today) and even rewound the last step portion since I couldn't get the moves down the first time. I also did FIRM Abs Workout 2.

Sue-It's so tough when the kids wake up early. At least you got something in. Do you like Tough tape 2? I haven't done that one yet. Great job on not gaining on vacation!!!

Kim-I hope you are feeling better. I dont' like to see my friends blue. I agree with you that Nancy just doesn't do much for me either. I think my sound on that tape is pretty loud. I will have to check. I love the music and steps in that video, especially the one where you go over the top of the step and come around. I really love the music during that part. Allie would be so terrific and bump that up 20 notches if she did it. Nancy has such an unmotivating voice. But she does have awesome abs and tiny legs!!

S&K's Mom- I have fit-tv, but I have too many new FIRM tapes to try, lol! Glad we got you addicted. Its a good habit to have.

Lisa- You are doing so terrific with the FIRM. Congrats on 13 days!

vfb2girls - Welcome to the thread, A great set to get to add to the BSS1 system you have is the BSS2 system. You can find them around with the sculpting stick in VHS at various stores. Or I have seen them sold seperately as just DVD's and VHS. They are Complete Aerobics and Weight Training, Total Sculpt plus Abs and Maximum Cardio Burn plus abs. Those are 3 great ones to get!

Octoberbride03- I think you will like Ab sculpt. There is a lot of nice stretching and core exercises in that one!

Danica- Don't get discouraged by the scale. Sometimes that happens when you first start working out. Muscle is denser than fat so when you start gaining it it really shows up in the scale at first. Give it a few weeks, maybe even 3-4.

Tracy- I love Emily in Complete Aerobics and weight training. That video really gets my hart pumping. Its my favorite video!!

I hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon Firmies:jester:

I just finished Ab Sculpt with Lisa Kay. I won't lie and say it was easy. But it really made me feel good. And there were a few moves that I've already learned in my Pilates routine so i wasn't as much a beginner as somebody starting ab workouts cold. i think its safe to say that I won't feel any pain or soreness tomorrow from this tape. If i don't I'll probably go full steam ahead and do my CS tape. We'll see.
I think though since i already do Pilates, that I'll leave this tape for just 2 days a week. That'll leave me to concentrate on the Body Sculpt once i add that in and CS.

MelanieC: You were right. I love the tape. My abs feel so good right now. And since I've already been doing core work with the Pilates my abs were eager to do these exercises. I had no problem completing the whole tape on my first time.

vfb2girls: Welcome to the thread and The Firm tapes. This is only my 2nd week of doing them but I think I'm going to become as addicted as everybody else here is.

ZerasPride: Congrats on 13 days in a row of FIrm Workouts. And congrats on your new clippie. I expect to acquire a new clippie very soon.

Hope everybody is having a great day

Good afternoon FIRMies!

I only have a few seconds right now to report but I try to stop by later for some "shout outs". I did BSS1 body sculpt (upper body) this morning and I'm really feeling it in my shoulders and neck. Today makes 14 straight days of exercise but I think I should work in at least 1 day of rest per week and give myself a break. I'm glad I was able to make it this far but I don't want to hurt myself and then not be able to do the FIRM so like I said, I feel good that I was able to get this many days in a row.

It sounds like everyone is doing well and I'll be back once I get home and take care of some things and check on you all again. Thanks so much for the support and encouragement! :)

Morning firmies, started a tape this am and got about into it about 25 minutes when little DD got up. It made me think that several of us have had this problem the last week or so and I know here in the NE it's light at 6am. My kids are totally affected by the time and seasonal changes so I think that's why I'm trying to do an hour a day so that if a few days go by and I can't work out I feel ok. Anyhow me and Jenn Carmen just got through the legs press when I hear "mommy come get me" so I'll try again tomorrow!

FIRMIES!
Finally got to Tough Tape 2 this AM. I really like this tape, Melanie. It's 45 min. long and works all parts of the body (without hover squats LOL). It's a composite tape, so it has several different instructors & there are pauses throughout the tape while you transition from segment to segment. Sometimes I need those pauses, but this AM, I felt like I wanted to finish & have coffee.
DS was more cooperative this AM. (Sorry s&k's mom that DD was not.) However, my washing machine was not cooperative. It may be done-for. Repairman could only come between 6:30 & 7:30 AM, so it was a 5:30AM wake-up to insure that the repairman did catch me mid leg press.
We are awaiting word on the cost of a transmission (I didn't even know washing machines had transmissions!) to decide whether to repair or replace. Seems like they just don't make appliances like they used to.
Good job on your quest, ZerasPride. I think a personal challenge can be fun. It takes on a life of its own.
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Good Morning! Sorry I haven't been around until now but the Firm took a back seat for a few days. Yesterday I did Maximum Cardio Burn with Allie - I like her a lot and the workout is really tough - especially the abs. But I got through it. Next time I do it I am going to use a bigger step.

Complete Aerobics and Weight Training with Emily for the first time. Whew! I think that is the most difficult of the three videos in BSS2.

Tracy - I have to agree with you on this one. This tape is super hard but I love the kickboxing routine and I also like using the fanny lifter - it really does work! It is my favorite tape out of the three! Although I like the strength training one as well since I really feel like my muscles are starting to build.

I am going to be doing Complete Aerobics and Weight Training tonight when I get home. I really do envy those of you who are able to get up early in the morning and workout - I just can't do it. I've tried but it is easier for me to do it as soon as I get home.

~Amanda

Good morning FIRMies!
Everyone is doing a great job! Today was Total Sculpt w/Abs for me! I couldn't really do the ab part w/ the sculpting stick because my tummy is in the way. I will probably do Ab Sculpt or Windsor Pilates tonite and work, work, work on toning that tummy!:teeth:

Have a great day!!

Tracy:wave2:
