Morning, can you believe it's week 6. I hope it's ok that I've been starting the thread. It the obsessive compulsive part of me taking over on a Monday morning.

Today was lower body sculpt II with Libby then my tv show which also concentrated on lower body so I felt "cleansed" after the pizza I had on Saturday!

Good morning!
Thanks s&k's mom for starting the thread! I can't believe that we are on week 6 already! Time flies when you're having fun!::yes:: Hope you have a great week this week!:sunny:

This morning I did Maximum Cardio Burn plus Abs. Whew! Yesterday after doing Cardio Sculpt Blaster, we went to the zoo and walked about 8-10 miles. Needless to say, I still feel it today, but am glad I got my workout in.

Hope you have a wonderful week!:sunny: :Pinkbounc

Good morning FIRMies!

Thanks s&k's mom for getting us started! I can't believe this is week 6 already. It seems like we just started this thread yesterday! I'm sure we are all leaner and more toned than we were just a few short weeks ago!

This morning I did Cardio Sculpt Blast with Lisa Kaye. I'm still learning the moves and feel a bit awkward at times but I love this work out, especially the fact that you get a complete work out including warm up and cool down in 30 minutes.

s&k's mom - good job with your work outs this morning!

Tracy - you're doing so well too. Both yesterday and today. I hope the weather holds out for us, I know wishful thinking. DH and I are going to go for a walk after work if the rain doesn't come first.

Hi to all that follow!! :)

Yowza- Week 6!!! Time does fly!!

S&K's mom- I am so glad you are on the ball each Monday morning to get the thread started for us. By the time I workout, get to work and get to post it's usually later in the day. THANKS!!

Well this morning I did the BSS3 Total Muscle Shaping with Stephanie again.

One thing I have noticed with these new workouts is they really get a lot of bang in for the buck. For instance, you might be doing lunges on the incline while lifting weights. Talk about getting your heart rate up there and doing double the work in the same amount of time. This tape just really kicks but in the upper body department. It may be because I am still getting used to the 10lb weights as my heavy weights, but I swear they are working on different muscles that dont' get worked in some of the other workouts. I really feel them, and couldn't quite complete the ones on the incline towards the end. Still having trouble with not sliding off the incline while doing ab work. I am going to try a yoga sticky mat. They are definately tougher on the incline...............WOW!!

Yesterday I did Fat Blasting Cardio and Super Cardio Sculpt.

Lisa- Cardio Sculpt blast is fun. It was the first video I did and had an aah-ha moment on with the moves. Lisa tends to say the moves nice and slow and it actually made doing the footwork on other videos easier after that one. It's been a while since I did that one, I am going to try to throw it in some time this week. It is fun!

Tracy- Sounds like you had a great fitness day yesterday. Glad you got a workout in plus some nice walking!!!

S&K's mom- I really like Lower Body Sculpt II, I love floorwork!! Don't ever feel guilty for eating Pizza!! I eat it 1-3 times a week and still loose. I would never give my pizza up, although we only do plain and veggie now (no more meat on it!!)

Have a great day everyone!

:jester:

I know i was not around for a bit last week, but thiings got rather hectic on a few fronts and i didn't feel like posting. I did do CS on Weds. and Thursday was a planned rest day. Friday was a Firm rest day, but i still did my WATP tape and Pilates. Went down to Nags Head for an overnight visit on Saturday and came home yesterday. Last night b4 bed i did AS and watched the Body Sculpt tape.

Today I try Body Sculpt. And i think I'm gonna die from the lower body part. If i live I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be a rest day. I am going to try to do both parts today cause its time for me to weights again and I'd rather do this than WATP. Some of the exercises on WATP are now too easy for me. I feel like i have enough experience to use the weights, though I'll only be using the 2lb dumbbels i have right now. Sometime in the future I'll pick the 5 and 8lb dumbbells. Depends on how working out with the 2lb weights go.

Anyhhow, I'm gonna get ready and go try my luck. I'll report back afterwards.

Have a wonderful day all

Well the firm addiction must of hit me cuz I worked out on Sunday doing the firm cardio blaster and firm ab sculpter. Then today I did the firm body sculpt, both the upper and lower and day 3 of the firm abs. I am really getting into the firm again, I forgot how much fun and challenging these tapes are, especially when my two year old grandson thinks he can drive his cars in between my step while I am using it! This does make for a much harder workout! Great job to everyone else, you inspire me to continue with the firm.:hyper:

I really was planning to work out this am, even with my cold (and feeling completely sorry for myself). But DD was up at 5:30am! So I've set my tape up for tomorrow. I really miss not working out but I had lots of laundry to put away so I went up and down the stairs alot!

FIRMIES!
I came to WISH very early yesterday & since the Week 6 thread wasn't started yet, I decided to come back later, rather than starting it myself & causing confusion. Yeah, right! I had no time to do anything that I wanted to do yesterday, but I especially hate it when work interferes with WISH.
Monday AM was Cardio Sculpt Blast w/ Lisa Kaye. Not one of my greatest workouts. As I feared, being away from this tape for over 2 weeks really showed in my performance. This is my newest tape, but I really haven't done it as much w/ my personal challenge for longer tapes. But I'm going to try it again tommorrow & commit to do it AT LEAST once per week.
This morning, I was up before the alarm & decided to do Super Body Scuplt w/ Stephanie Corley. I just love those planks in the Ab section.
Melanie,
DH pointed out your Feb. thread about FIRM Video Categories. It's great & I just printed it so that I can study it in my "free" time LOL. Thanks! I also saw your link to the FIRM YaYas. I'd like to know more about it before registering. Of course, I still haven't gotten back to try the free month of FIRM Believers. This would all get solved if they would just add an 8th day on each week, preferably a weekend day.
Sounds like every one is doing great, I 'd love to comment more specifically, but work CALLS.
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Good morning FIRMies!

Well it's Terrific Tuesday and even though it's soggy, grey and raining outside, I feel sunny, bright and full of promise inside! Of course my work day is just getting started and I'll probably feel like an old sour puss by the end of the day but that's a different story!

This morning was BSS1 body sculpt (upper body) for me. I've been away from the upper body only exercises for about a week because I think I was over working my muscles but I feel much better now. I think I'll alternate the upper and lower portions of body sculpt a couple of times a week along with my cardio and ab work outs to mix things up and keep me from working one group of muscles too much.

Melanie - A big woohoo for you!!!! Using 10 pounds weights definitely must be challenging!

Octoberbride - it sounds like you are doing great with your routine. Keep up the good work and you'll be using those heavy weights in no time! I'm still learning the moves for cardio sculpt blast and until I get the footwork down, I won't be using weights at all so we've got to take it one step at a time.

vfb2girls - you've got FIRM fever that's for sure! Your work out schedule sounds awesome! I wish I could do more than one work out per day. Maybe I can be like you when I grow up :). Keep up the awesome work!!!!

s&k'smom - I think climbing the stairs over and over with laundry definitely constitutes lunge work and I'm sure there was some fanny lifting going on too! You've always got tomorrow to get in that work out and you sound very determined too!

sue - your work out yesterday was exactly like mine! I did Cardio Sculpt Blast with Lisa Kaye yesterday too. I'm still trying to get the hang of some of the fancy foot work like that A step and L step and the calf pump, etc. It's a fun work out and I love the music. I also love when Lisa says, "It's gettin' hot in here!" and "Are you sweatin' yet?" Her encouragement really gets me moving. I can't wait to do this one again tomorrow! Keep up all your good work, I'm sure it's paying off for you!

Kim - we miss you on the this thread! I hope things are going well and that you will stop in from time to time. Take care!

Hi to all that follow!

Well, I survived most of Body Sculpt. :jester:

I didn't do the entire tape. My knees got shaky after doing 12 minutes of the Lower Body portion so i stoppped and rested awhile. Then i did the Upper Body portion which was easier to complete but i was not able to do all the reps for each weight bearing exercise. But, since it was my first day I never expected to be able to do all the reps.

I will say that Jen is not my favorite instructor for these tapes. And the footwork in the initial warmup is hard sometimes. I marched in place for some of it. The good news is that I'm not sore today. I'd toyed with the idea of doing my WATP tape to suplement the Upper Body workout, but Dh and i had a little bit of marital fun instead:teeth:

So now i have all 3 tapes going in my rotation and i need how to figure out when to do which workouts and still get the proper rest for each muscle group. Right now i still like to have 2 rest days week. But considering that i actually wanted to put in the AS tape and workout on Sunday night, it might not be long b4 i get down to 1 rest day a week.

I tink today I'm gonna do CS and try to add another couple of minutes into the routine. We'll see how that holds out. I can't decide between AS or Pilates right now, but 1 of them will also be done b4 the end of the day.

Happy Firming and thanx for the encouragement everybody

I was just reading the exercise guide that came with my BSS1 and i noticed that when you add BS in the guide has you doing it 2 days in row and then a rest day in between BS and CS. So how many of you do BS 2 days in a row? Or do you do Upper Body 1 day and Lower Body the next day? The guide just has the tape symbols and titles no explanations. I do know that CS uses weights even though i haven't used them with the tape yet. So now i'm a little confused.

Thanx

Hi Maureen!

I just wanted to say that you are doing so well with your workouts! I have BSS1 too. I don't follow the rotation schedule anymore, I just made up my own that works for me and that incorporates the Cardio Sculpt Blast tape I bought two weeks ago.

I also couldn't imagine doing BS two days in a row. I was doing it on Tuesdays and Thursdays (upper body only) and felt like I was straining my muscles so now I do BS (upper body) on Tuesday and BS (lower body) on Friday. With cardio on the other days, except Sunday where I do ab sculpt. This is what works for me and I don't feel like I am straining any muscle groups.

Maybe someone that is using the rotation can comment here to help you out.

Again, you are doing a wonderful job! Are you seeing "visible results" yet?

Hey FIRMies-

Today was Cardio for me - I did Lisa's new Fat Blasting Cardio again. I love it, its only 35 minutes but it really packs a punch and I am exhausted. I was almost having nightmares about the one section with weights. Glad I got up and did it anway!
I also did workout 3 from FIRM Abs.

Maureen,
Don't do Body Sculpt two days in a row. That is an extremely tough Sculpt tape and you need 48 hours to rest and repair your muscles after lifting heavy.

Sculpt videos - Don't do two days in a row
Cardio & Sculpt - Try to rest or do cardio in between, but you can lift lighter and do one two days in a row.
Cardio- Can be done as often as you like. Don't go too heavy on weights used in cardio if its after a sculpt or cardio & sculpt day.

Hope this helps.

ITA! The lower body portion of this tape is a killer. I typically rest in between the lower and upper body sections.

It's a conspiracy. First, I go all winter without a cold then spring comes and boom! Second I'm having issues with my coffee maker and then for the 2nd morning in a row DD gets up at 5:30am so no firming again today! OK I've wihned. I think this is the divine intervention I need to rest and take it easy while I have this nasty cold. Of course wouldn't it been a pretty site doing a tape and blowing my nose at the same time! Have a great day everyone.

FIRMIES!
This AM was Lisa Kaye & Ab Sculpt. A good workout, but really not much of a challenge. Tommorrow is Cardio Sculpt Blaster.
Melanie,
I had a chance to study your post on all of the FIRM tapes broken into the 3 categories. I read it while I waited for DS(9) to finish BB practice. WOW, did I learn ALOT! I thought I was not maximizing my workouts because I was not doing longer tapes. But after reading your break down, I realize that I do not have the best "mix" of tapes. Of the 8 tapes that I own, 6 are Sculpting, only. I own one C+S tape, Cardio Sculpt w/ Allie and one C tape, Cardio Sculpt Blaster w/ Lisa Kaye. Neither of these two tapes are constants in my weekly routine, although they will be now. YIKES! I really need to buy a tape or 2. Or maybe it is time to buy another system/pack of tapes.
I need to study the list & go to the websites. I really like collagevideo.com, but I've never been to overstock.com. Unfortunately, internet research is not something you can do in your car, parked next to a BB diamond. But DS(16) is on his way to DC for his junior trip & DS(9) probably won't practice, because of the lovely rainy weather we're having in NJ, until the indoor batting on Saturday.
I read with interest the posts of Octoberbride03 and ZerasPride about setting or not setting a rotation of workouts to maximize results. But I clearly need a new tape or 2 to even think about setting a meaningful rotation.

Your week of light sleeping children & bad colds sounds like my week before I went to WDW. Maybe you need a trip to Disney, too LOL Good luck & hang in there!
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Good morning FIRMies!
Whew! Yesterday was a tough day for me because I was down with the flu. Today, I feel much better, but very sore and weak. So, I think I will postpone my workout until tomorrow. There is one advantage to being sick though.... it works your ab muscles like crazy!;) Have a great day everyone!

Good morning FIRMies!

This morning was Cardio Sculpt Blaster with Lisa Kaye. I think it has surpassed cardio sculpt with Allie as my fav work out! I feel just awesome and I think I have most of the moves down now.

I hope everyone has a great day and make it a great workout!

Hey everyone,

Happy Hump Day!

Today was Complete Body Sculpting with Christa. I heavied up like she said and had a GREAT workout today! I feel really good.

I have also been noticing that my outer thighs and hips are really slimming down! I think all this hard work is paying off. Granted, I still have tons of work and fat in my hips, thighs and tummy to work off, but boy do they look better already in just 10 weeks. I can also really see some definatition in my arms and legs too. I feel so strong now too. It feels great to feel so good from working out.

Remember when I was having knee problems, well a few weeks ago my BIL was over (he is a physical therapist) and I asked him what could be wrong. After looking at my knee he said that I have tendonitis. He said that its common for women who loose weight to get week in the leg muscles. With all the exercising I was doing, my muscles were weak where the tendons are connected. He told me to do some exercises for that area like straighten my leg and while sitting lift and lower my entire leg. He said as my leg gets stronger it will get less painful. I can definately tell my knee is getting stronger and the pain is almost non existant, but its still there sometimes.

Lisa- I need to get that out. Darn it there are too many videos lol. I liked it the few times I did it.

Tracy- Continue resting. Your body needs the rest! Hope you get better soon.

Sue, I had to buy tons more videos for the exact same reason. Now I have so many I never know which one to do lol!! I don't set a schedule, I just do what I feel like and follow not doing two cardio & sculpt or sculpt two days in a row.

S&K's mom- Hope you get better soon!! Being sick is no fun.

Tiger Bear- I agree, My legs shake during the lower body portion!!

Have a good day everyone.

FIRMIES!
I need your input. On my quest to round out (no pun intended) my FIRM collection, I found Complete Aerobic and Weight Training for a good price on overstock.com. What is your opinion of this tape? I know, from Melanie's list that it is a C+S, but I can't find it on collagevideo.com so no input from there. Do I need a sculpting stick or a medicine ball? I want to buy it ASAP, since overstock says it is a high risk to sell out. Thanks! SGG
