Can you believe it's week 17. This am was total body sculpt II with Jen. Boy was I bad this weekend and it went right to my belly. But I did work out Sat and took Sunday as my rest day. I was a little distracted this am but I think I did pretty well with this tape.

Wow! Week 17! I can't believe it!!:Pinkbounc Yesterday, I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster. Today, I tried Kathy Smith's Timesaver Lift Weights to Lose Weight workout. Whew! I love it!!! This video makes a great addition to my FIRM collection. I will probably add this one in to the rotation at least once a week.

s&k's mom~ Thanks for starting the thread! Would you say that Body Sculpt 2 is harder or about the same as Body Sculpt 1? Great job getting your workout in!:Pinkbounc

Tracy I think BSII is a bit tougher than I because they do use the sculpting stick and I'm not quite sure how I feel about the stick. I think it helps to know the moves, they seemed to have pumped it up a bit but they do continually remind you that if you are a bigginer to take it wasy which I think is a good idea.
 
FIRMIES!
It's been a while since I posted, although I tried to post once from home, typed a complete "tale" and it never showed up on the thread. Strange. I've been faithfully FIRMing, while I've been away from WISH Bds. This AM was Cardio Sculpt Blaster, one of my favorite 30 min. workouts. I didn't get to do 2 long tapes this weekend. It was Cardio Sculpt on Sat., but Sunday was only __ ___ Blaster w/ Nancy, one of my new DVDs from firmdirect.com. (So new, I can't remember the title & I'm posting from work)
Hope to be posting on a regular basis because I miss the support that I get from you guys!

Good morning FIRMies!

I'm back from Disneyworld and while I had a great vacation, it's so nice to be back "home" posting with you all again. I know it sounds hokie but I missed everyone!!!!

Week 17, can you guys believe it? Wow!!! This morning I did FIRM cardio sculpt blaster with Lisa Kay and both Saturday and Sunday I did super cardio sculpt with Nancy Tucker. I managed to stay on plan on vacation and didn't cheat. I also exercised most days at the Grand Floridian's health club which was very nice. I used the treadmill for about 25 minutes and then spent 5-10 minutes with the free weights. I even managed to jog for about 6 minutes straight and I've never been able to do that before. The treadmill just doesn't compare to the FIRM though and I'm glad to be back in full FIRM swing now!

I also managed to lose 2.5 pounds between my weigh in on June 6 and June 13. Not too bad especially because TOM is in full swing right now and my wedding ring is pretty tight on my hand and it's usually so loose that it could almost fall off. Yucky water retention!

s&k'smom - your work out sounds intense. WTG in getting it in!

Tracy - Your work outs sound intense too. I don't know who Kathy Smith is, care to share? It sounds great and good for you in getting your work outs in too! Did you enjoy the storm last night? :)

sue - It's so nice that you found the time to post! I'm so glad to hear that you have been keeping up your work outs. I hope you can post regularly.

We just got back from a week-long vacation yesterday afternoon and I'm so excitied to check in to see how you're all doing!

Hi s&k'smom! Ooooo, when I'm a baaaaad girl (as I was on vacation--more on this later!), it goes right to my waistline, too! I usually try to blame it on my clothesdryer, but deep down inside...we all know the truth!:scared: Great job getting your workouts in!

Hi Tracy! I see you've added Kathy Smith's LWtLW! I've read good things on the FIRM Ya Ya's site about that video, and I'm glad you like it! It's nice to change things up every now and then, isn't it?! Excellent job with the muscle confusion, girl, and I bet you'll be seeing results real soon! Keep up your awesome work!

Hi sueg! It's great that you're staying so motivated and enjoying your workouts! That Nancy Tucker is sooooo lean--I swear there's not an ounce of fat on her! Hey Melanie! I know you haven't posted yet, but I'm sure you'll be checking in! I just did Cathe's Bootcamp workout for the first time this morning and wanted to give you a little review. I think you said you taped it off of FitTv, so I'm probably telling you everything you already know! This is a really different kind of workout than all her others. A definite "shock your body" type that I really think could pack an added punch to any workout rotation. I was able to keep up fairly well except for three things: tricep dips, plank position hip-dips (my weak lower back really felt it), and these things called squat thrust terminators--a cardio section in which I truly believe that Cathe has lost her mind. I could only do about 1/2 of what she does! I used a 35# loaded barbell for the heavier lower body work, but if you have low to high weight dumbells you can easily substitute them for any barbell work--she really doesn't use it that much. Overall, I really liked the DVD--it has many premixes, and I know I'll be adding the cardio-only premix on some of my strength training days--I'm trying to do a bit of that HIT work. Some of the Ya Yas are doing a 4 X week Bootcamp-only rotation, but I know I'd get too bored--IMAX2 and Pyramid Upper Body are two workouts I can't seem to live the week without. This is my favorite of her circuit-style workouts--it moved fairly quickly and I try to just keep repeating what Cathe says-- "You can do anything for a minute!" (Except those dang squat thrust terminators!:mad: ) I'm really glad I added this one to my collection, and will probably try to do it once a week. It's very different and very challenging!

Ok, FIRMies, it's confession time. I just got back yesterday from a really wonderful Western Caribbean cruise. I GAINED 7 POUNDS!!! :eek: I ate huge meals, snacked like crazy (free ice cream on the pool deck!!!), exercised no willpower (I actually exercised nothing at all!) and went from 123 pounds the day I left to 130 this morning! But.....I'm not apologizing for a single pound!!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: We had the best time, and I know that going back to my normal exercise routine and eating habits will get me back down again. It's funny, but I ate so much junk this past week, that my body actually was craving vegetables this morning--I ate a big salad for breakfast! Next vacation, I will bring workout clothes with me, though. I was always up early and could have used the time in the gym or walking on deck instead of grabbing a yummy donut BEFORE going to breakfast! Keep all your stories of exercise and hard work coming my way! I really need you guys now!:grouphug:

Welcome back!!!! It sounds like you had an awesome vacation!!!! I'm sure that nasty 7 pounds will be gone in no time the way you work out. Bringing exercise clothes with you next time sounds like a good idea but I don't know if I could have resisted all that free food (and free ice cream, you're killing me!). I took my work out stuff with me and worked out in the Grand Floridian's health club, it was nice but so weird feeling to be exercising on vacation. Maybe when I get as skinny as you, I won't have to worry about exercising on vacation!

Anyway, glad to have you back and I want to hear more about your cruise. It sounds divine! I'm working on a trip report and believe it or not, it's taken me 3 or 4 days just to type of my notes from Days 1, 2 and 3. I want to post it all at one time and I'll be trying to finish it up by Wednesday. It's nice to be "talking" to you my WISH-sis! Take care!!!!:wave:
 
luvmydogs, who can resist on vacation. It's so funny you should mention that. I have a couple of pairs of shorts that are big and I plan to bring those to WDW in October as I know I'll gain weight during the week so they will still fit at the end of the week.

Today was tough tape II. I like this tape alot and I am actually thinking of getting 10lbs weight for a few of the exercises. I'm a long way from even doing a whole workout with the 8lbs but something like biceps I think I could handle 10. I have to confess I want buff biceps!

I am back to report that I am sore this morning!:Pinkbounc Woohoo! My muscles are awake now.:teeth: I really liked the workout that I did yesterday and now I know it works. I am taking today off to rest and will be back to the FIRM tomorrow.

Lisa~ I don't know much about Kathy Smith. I know that she has several workout videos to her name, but that's about it. My friend gave me this video to use because it was collecting dust in her spare room. :teeth: This workout has what is called a Dual Track System. You can either do a lot of repetitions with lower weights or a few repetitions with heavier weights. (The video shows half of the people using the lower weights and half of the people using the heavier weights.) She cues you when to stop and start. There are 2 twenty minute routines on the tape. One for upper body and one for lower body. Plus, there is a bonus abs and back section on the tape. This workout is all weights and no cardio. I really like it!!!:hyper: (By the way... it's called Kathy Smith's Timesaver Lift Weights to Lose Weight video.)

Good afternoon FIRMies!

No work out for me today. I was really feeling sore and extra tired this morning and my new motto is not to push myself if I truly feel like I need a break. Tomorrow I will be back at it with what should have been today's work out (Super Body Sculpt).

Tracy - thanks for giving me the details on that work out. It sounds like something I might be interested in when I'm closer to goal.

Morning firmies, today was upper body and wow it's a toughie. Anyhow I was thinking of all of you yesterday. Went to Walmart to pick up a few things and was looking for Lilo and Stitch for the kids. Went by the VHS section and there was calorie killer on vhs for only 6.98! It's a new tape and if you don't mind VHS you can get some of those tape really cheap. I thought that was a great price actually I was very surprised.

s&k'smom - your work out sounds great! Thanks for letting us know about the VHS FIRM tapes at Walmart. I got my cardio sculpt blaster on VHS for about $8 from Walmart a couple of months ago. We have a VCR upstairs and our DVD downstairs so if DH is sleeping late, I can just go downstairs and work out and not bother him so I like having both VHS and DVD work outs. I'd love to own calorie killer, I've heard it mentioned several times. Have you tried it out? I'd like to know if it's mostly cardio or what type of work it is. Thanks!

This morning I did Super Cardio Sculpt with Stephanie Corley. It was tough to do the lower body part but surprisingly not as tough as usual. I'm looking forward to doing this one again on Friday. Tomorrow I'm doing Super Cardio Sculpt with Nancy Tucker.

How is everyone else doing?

I took two rest days off in a row and am back and ready to workout. Today will be the Kathy Smith tape. Tomorrow MCB+ Abs and Saturday will be Total Sculpt + Abs.

Morning all. Today was Standing Legs. Holy smokes it's a toughie. Plus it's really muggy this am and was I sweating. If you want to give your legs a really tough workout this is the one. Tomorrow I'm finally gonna get to try Calorie Killer with Nancy (I need to eat a burger) Tucker. Actually I really like her tapes alot. I just am so jealous of her waistline.

This morning I did cardio sculpt blaster with Lisa Kay and not super cardio sculpt, if I take a day off that is unplanned, it throws my schedule off and I have to cross my work outs to get back on schedule. Tomorrow it will be super body sculpt and I'm looking forward to that.

Tracy - Hi girlie! I'm sure you deserved those two days off. Your body probably needed a rest from all your hard work. WTG with getting right back on program though! Thanks for acknowledging my 200th cheat free day with me! It's exciting and I can hardly believe I've made it this far. Thanks for your support in making this journey a little bit easier for me! :sunny:

s&k'smom - you are so funny! I also think Nancy Tucker is a great instructor but I think she should eat a little something too! :) I like Lisa Kay and Stephanie Corley's shapes the best and hope to end up looking remotely like one of them. I'd like to be thin but not skinny and hopefully keep some womanly curves.

This AM was Cardio Sculpt Blaster w/ Lisa Kay, one of my favorite short tapes. I haven't lost any weight in A WHILE, but I haven't gained any either. Just on a whim this AM, I tried on a suit given to me by a pregnant co-worker. When she gave it to me about 2 mos. ago, I couldn't get the skirt closed. Surprise, it closed today, but cannot tuck in a top. After almost 2 yrs. of FIRMing, I'm still amazed that I lose an inch here and there, without losing any weight.
I'm going to try for Upper Body tomorrow. It's been a long time since I've seen Janet Jones-Gretzky (sp?)

Hey Sueg don't forget that sometimes you gain that muscle weight. So it may seem like you have not lost weight but you've got that muscle. Remember what Libby on the infommercial says, no giggle here, no giggle there!
 
I love that "no jiggle here" comment on the infomercial!

Just a quick question. Since we are all pretty committed to the FIRM, has anyone gone down to their facility in South Carolina? I would love to go there and was just sitting here fantasizing about hitting goal and wondering what I could do to celebrate. Maybe I'd take a trip to South Carolina and work out at the FIRM facility with the ladies who instruct us on the videos. Wouldn't that be great! I wonder what you'd have to do to make an appointment. That's something maybe worth looking into.
