My family is taking a trip to WDW on 7/4/2010 and there will be 9 of us all together, we will be having three chidren with us ages 5, 3 and 2, We are signing up for the dining plan and we were wondering if anyone could tell us a place to eat in the MK that would be great for watching the fire works? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Table or Quick Service?

There are only 3 table service places there. Crystal Palace which I have never been in but I think MIGHT have decent viewing IF you are at a window. Same goes for eating in the castle. And at Liberty Tree there are SO many trees in that area and few windows, doubt you would see anything at all.

Quick service wise, there is a terrace at Cosmic Rays you can sit at and since that is 4th of July the Noodle Station MAY be open. They also have a terrace for sitting and eating. Casey's on main street has a few tables you can sit and eat at that have decent viewing if you can get one that is beyond the one big tree there.

Honestly though, I really don't recommend any of them for the best firework viewing. If you REALLY want to get a good view while you sit and eat, look into eating at one of the resorts on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. I am not 100% certain which restaurants at them would have the viewing but I am sure you can ask when you call dining reservations. I wanna say California Grill, Ohana's, and one or two others. You will get MUCH better views from across the lagoon then in the park itself.

I agree with the PP, there are not good options for viewing from the restaurants in MK. I don't think you can see from CP. The Plaza restaurant is very good, but you can't see from there. The best viewing, IMO, is directly in front of the castle on Main St. You could grab counter service and try to get a table, but it can be tough due to crowds.

They have been doing Wishes Dessert Parties at the Terrace Noodle area, which would give you outdoor space. I have not done this, but not convinced that the viewing is that great. (Pics of the dessert look fabulous!)

To sit at a nice restaurant, try Cali Grille in the Contemporary. You have to time it right, tho. And you are not guaranteed a window seat, although you can request it.There is also an outdoor viewing deck, so if your table is not optimal (you will probably be able to see from most places), you can go out there.

Good luck and happy eating!!!! (And viewing!)

Bearing in mind you it is going to be 4th July, I would book a table at California Grill and enojy a wonderful relaxing evening, if you can afford it. If not, you will need to stake out your fireworks spot a LONG while before. Not quite a relaxing, but still, I'd rather be at Disney...

Try O'hana inside the Poly. They turn down the lights in the restaurant and play the music for the fireworks. You can see them well from there. They also have coconut races and hula hoops approximately every 25 mins, so the kids stay entertained during dinner.

you will definitely have to book a priority seating for O'hana ahead of time. they fill up for the fireworks

I would be really, really careful about firework plans with children that age. We just returned with my almost 3 year old and the fireworks were a MAJOR cause for concen. I would carefully evulate you kids tolerance for LOUD noises. I suggest a really loud thunderstorm or movie. The fireworks at the MK are loud and they are loud from a long way away. We searched high and low and could not find a "quite" place in the park and the best advise we received was to be in our hotel room before they start.

For our next trip we are getting some children's now canceling ear muffs for the kids. I am hoping that will help. Good luck.

Am I hijacking? If so I apologize. Is the only way to get a boat for fireworks if you are a large party? We only have 4 people and I can't afford to do one just with us but I haven't seen anywhere that they will help you find people. Any ideas?
