Fireworks

I'm trying to get better at fireworks. The highest score I got so far was 261,000.
For those of you who get on the best score list, how in the heck do ya do it?

just keep playing and playing!! the more you play, you will remember the patterns of the fireworks and eventually will start scoring higher! ...it took me over 300 hours to reach 280,000....and now i can get that everytime i play....so just keep playing

since you've reached 260,000, that means you're pretty good to begin with. when i was at that level i found that to get better i actually had to slow down instead of being faster. there are a lot of points to be had in those flurries of fireworks (at the end of the level). i used to click away as fast as i could, not wanting to miss them, but now i slow down and try to get excellent to flawless. at the end of level 5-3, i still just end up clicking away, but there is a pattern to it, so once in a while i can hit the right spot and get most of them.

the other thing i work on is trying to get the maximum out of each firework. for a flawless you point range can vary from 950-1000 (i think). 50 points per firework over the stretch of the game can add up, so i practice my timing on the easier fireworks (like level 1-1) to maximize the points.

the other thing that plays into it is the luck of the draw. when i've done really well, there were a lot of fireworks that come together and i am able to kill two or three birds with one stone. other times i've had a lot of overlap of different fireworks or they don't come together and i have to kill one early to get to the other. you just have to think about how you will handle these situations when they come up. I think AmberDaze had a posting in one of the other fireworks threads that tells what she does.

Aww, thank you so much. I hate to hog all the limelight -- there are many people who are yet better than me.

Here's a tip...After you're playing for a while, you will become familiar with the placement of the fireworks, and how quickly they turn to stars and then disappear (each one has a different speed). Take note of the fireworks and the order that they are coming out -- once you hit a star on one, quickly change to that next fireworks image. And when a big stream of fireworks come out like the yellows at the end of the 3rd level, if you watch the order that they come out...you will be able to hit many of them flawless. Also, slowing down does help -- unless you see 2 different fireworks that are going to overlap each other. In this case you would want to hit one of them first and then hit the other. No sense getting an oops when you could get a good or awesome and flawless. And did I mention practice... a lot! Good luck!!

I wish I could get to 260,000 my best is 231,000. Be proud that you can play the way you do, I would be :0)

Well, first you try and practices missing few as possible, after that try perfecting it.. you won't get better in a day but as long as you practice you will improve ( there is always room for improvement).. you can get to the 260k mark now, then watch as you gradually increase. from 260k, ..then 265k,.. then 270k, .. then one day you will reach the 280s and driving a shiny green car! Or maybe 290k mark! lol, i haven't reached it yet. Good luck though, my reply might be a little confusing

I have found that I can get many of the fireworks that go in opposite directions...but I needed to have a mouse that moved really smoothly. I tried those gaming mouses -- they didn't work for me. What works for me is a Microsoft Optical Mouse and a really smooth mousepad (my best by far is this one). Sometimes when you have a few fireworks coming out on both sides, I hit them in a zig zag pattern in order to get them all, with at least a few of them flawless. After playing a lot you will notice which ones disappear faster and which ones you should hit first.
