Do they have fireworks at DLP? :cheer2:

I have no idea!? :confused3

And is fantillusion, a spectromagic type thing? And is that every night?

thanks.. sorry if these are dumb questions!

Fantillusion is indeed a Spectromagic type thing.

It is a night-time parade bringing together a large collection of Disney Characters, it appears a normal nighttime parade but it has a twist as all the floats stop 3 times on the route and the floats magically transform before your eyes.

First Mickey creates the magic light in the "Enchanted Garden" section this is shortlived however as soon after Malificent, Jafar and Ursula arrive and steal the light and turn the park to darkness. But the Disney Princes and Princesses are on-hand to chase away the villains in a magical finale filled with magical music, beautiful colour and romance, as they bring the light back to Disneyland Park.

More info here....
http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/entertainment/fantillusion.html

Fantillusion is only performed during the Summer Season (14th July 2007 - August 26th 2007) and during the Christmas Season (11th November 2006 - 7th January 2007).

Fireworks are only offically held during the Summer Season (14th July 2007 - August 26th 2007), but recently with new opening hours for the Disneyland Park fireworks have been appearing on some Saturday evenings. Though this is not advertised and may only of been throughout September, when the park stayed open until 10pm on Saturday.

But rumours suggest there will be fireworks over the Christmas Holidays this year, as the park stays open until 10pm from 23rd December until 6th January - but this firework show has not been confirmed, and may or may-not feature as part of the Christmas Line up.

Anyone know how long Fantillusion takes to go by? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to decide whether to take photos or try and take a couple of small video clips on my digicam. I can usually get about 7 mins on the memory card but i don't want to waste time doing a video clip and missing the chance for some decent pics. I'm probably only going to get the one chance to see it so I want to have some great pics to look at when I get home

Dont know the exact length, although i'm sure someone will, but good photos will be far better than a couple of short video clips in my opinion anyway. What I did was took absolutely loads of photos then just did a montage on the PC with the Fantillusion theme as the backing track. There are videos of the parade about too, maybe somone could post a link, then you could get some idea of which way you want to do it.

Fantillusion times vary depending on where you stand, the longest and best experience is when you stand in front of the castle (or anywhere around central plaza) and here it will last about 20 minutes, as you will be able to see all 3 show-stops.

If you choose to sit on the Seats near the castle stage here you will see 2 stops ( Villians and Princesses) and the parade will last about 15 minutes

If you stand on Main Street you will see 2 stops (Garden and Villians), the parade will again last about 15 minutes from first float to last.

Or for the quickest parade stand in Town Square at the bottom of Main Street, here you will only see the garden stop and the Villains and Princesses will pass by without stopping, here the parade will last under 15 minutes from the first float to last, (though it will not arrive here until 15 mins after the published start time)

I know this a rather confusing I will create a little map to show the best places to stand.

oh no, is fantillusion not going to be on in November then?

Thats such a shame!?

Is there any halloween extra stuff (apart from halloween land) that will be there from 1st November?

What time is the Fantillusin parade normally on? :confused3

It would be great if we get a chance to see it in January :goodvibes

When will that be announced as we are staying over Christmas and out only complaint last year was that the parks shut at 6pm and 8pm.

Would be the icing on the cake for a another magical Christmas. Yippee.

It won't be offically announced for a while- if at all. A sign will be posted at the entrance of the park on the day and a letter will be displayed at the reception of the hotels but I doubt it will be advertised.

It is offical however that the parks will be open from 23rd December - 6th January:

9am - 10pm (Disneyland Park)
9am - 6pm (Walt Disney Studios)

I haven't got around to doing that map yet - will tomorrow though :thumbsup2 !

The Halloween Season finishes on November 5th this year, so the whole of the season will still be in full-swing.

All the decorations will still be up in Main Street and Halloweenland.
The Disney's Villians parade will be shown at 4pm. (With me  )
The "La Cavalcade" mini-parade will be shown various times daily. (With me :woohoo: )
3 special Halloween Shows will be shown in Halloween land. (Without me :sad2: )

And of course all the Pumpkinmen, Pink Witches and Disney Villians will be out to scare you throughout your day.

Not sure when your visiting, but the parks will be open at these times...

on November 1st, 2006:
9.00 - 22.00 (Disneyland Park)
9.00 - 18.00 (Walt Disney Studios)

from November 2nd to 5th, 2006:
10.00 - 21.00 (Disneyland Park)
10.00 - 18.00 (Walt Disney Studios)

But sadly no Fantillusion or Fireworks are planned.
I'm sure you'll have a great time anyway :sunny: !

wow.. thanks! Great news

we arrive on 1st but will be visiting the parks from 2nd only..

we can have a lie in! 10am! wow!

Thanks so much. I will look out for you! (give me a clue as to how you will be attired!)

Sorry if I caused confusion, but yes I can confirm that Fantillusion will be presented on November the 11th.
