It’s mind blowing to see people prop their kids up as if they are the ONLY ones viewing the show.
I don’t understand filming the fireworks either. A. Disney already filmed them and you can watch them online anytime you like. B. When the announcement came on about the park lights being dimmed for the show, that was not a que to illuminate the park with your smart phone.
Tonight, a woman stood on a cooler AND filmed the fireworks with the flash on the entire show!!! I’m pretty sure I stopped breathing for a solid minute.
I really hope Disney will step in and control this nonsense.
I kind of think more or less everyone feels that way these days.
Parents do this because their kids can't see. You get mad because you can't see.
Both of you feel that YOUR FAMILY is entitled to a decent view, no? Why should one family be more entitled to see the show than another?
I totally agree with your second point, because lighted screens are far more disruptive to everyone, but I also know the folks who film feel equally entitled to film.
(Personally, kids on shoulders don't bother me, because I went to WDW when I was little, and remember when I couldn't see. I just adjust myself a little to one side, and I can see fine, as long as they aren't bouncing all over.)
And where does it end? Do we get mad at the person who happens to be tall?
I'm not saying audiences aren't rude these days, I'm just not sure how we decide which person has more of a right to a clear view.
