Fireworks Viewing

in the past they some times had this area blocked off for extra FP area so I am not sure if they will do this with the dessert party or not. if they do not have this blocked off I would say get there at lest an hour before the parade may be a little before get some food from Casey and have some thing to eat depending on where you are you should be able to see some of the parade as it goes by not every thing then I would wait about 10 minutes to let the crowds start to move then find a spot to watch the parade. the times I have been there the second parade is 1 deep and in a few areas 2 deep I have never had a problem finding a spot ( my avert is right were it comes out by the fire house when the last float goes by I get leave before the big crowded dose)

also the CM start tapping off where you can and can not stand a few hours before hand so if you are in the area you can look and see where might be a good spot.

Depending upon how early you're willing to wait, you could just try snagging a spot on the curb and then waiting for the area to clear before attempting to leave. They won't let you stay in the lowered areas because they stay clear for walking, but if you just hang out for a few minutes it'll clear out and you can maneuver around again.

On Robo's map, I don't think the green area closer to the castle is going to be used for the dessert party. Maybe you could grab a spot there?

Wishes is always pretty tough. We've always done the dessert party in the past to help with the hassle, but now that there's no assigned seating it's a bust for us. I know you don't want to, but maybe consider the dessert party, if nothing else than for peace of mind.

As far as Casey's, you're probably looking at more than 30 minutes prior. Likely more than an hour prior.

That is actually the area I was looking at. I was just thinking more to the sides of the FP+ areas (around those patches with the fountains) than towards the curb and the street because we could line up at the fence with no one in front. I'd find a spot there, tell the kids to stay put and then go to Casey's to get some hot dogs to go for all of us so we can have some dinner while waiting in our spot.

I really don't think we'll do the dessert party. It would be $160 for the four of us basically just to get into the FP+ area - DD3 won't eat that late, DS11 doesn't eat anything sweet at all and DS7 doesn't eat when he's tired. But seeing that they now accept same day reservations, if push comes to shove, we could still do that on our second night. I'd really like to try though without having to shelf out the extra $$$ just for the fireworks.

I have seen the area infant of the grasses area for FP and when not they block off half the side walk ( the back half for people to walk) if it is not blocked off and I think it should not be for next week as it should not be crowded then this area behind the fountains so you have that bare in front of you and no one could stand there. or if you go over a little away from main street there is another grassy area just the same you could stand there. there really is not perfect place where something or someone is not blocking your view. ( I wish I know how to do a screen shot so I can show you where I am talking about) behind the FP area is walk way only as fair as I remember. there is another place if you go across from where you would check in for FP they have that taped off if you get to the front of that section you could be in front with only people walking by to be in your way this would be my last chose as someone could still get in front of you
