Fireworks tonight at MGM..after hours

This is the second time that I know of during our stay here that we have watched beautiful fireworks from MGM directly from our roonm at POP, backside of the 70's..but long after the park is closed. Anyone know if the park has been rented out. If so, they are getting a wonderful show. While no where near the show that Magic Kingdom is showing, it's still been great.

Thanks to people on this board, by the way, I knew I could get in at 4 for the MVMCP. If you call and ask, you will be told they won't let you in til 7..and that just isn't true. At 4 they have a special line for MVMCP tic holders and you will get your wrist band.

MGM was rented out for the night. We tried to get it out of the CM who it was. But where only told it was a family with allot of money. The guest all arrived by LIMO. You could see them if you where back by STAR TOURS around 7:45.

We went last night for Osborne Lights. Arrived about 6:30. I went to the tip board to see what the wait time was for ToT or RnR, I thought we could catch at least one after. The tip board said "closed at 6:30" for both! Was that because of this special event? I did hear the fireworks from our BWV room about 10:40 but couldn't see them. I knew they weren't Epcot because we could see Illuminations from our room, so I assumed it was MGM.

Aside from when it's rented out, they do a bit of rehearsals and testing so that could also be it.

I guess it depends on what time it was. It could be a party, or they could be rehearsing Sorcery in the Sky for NYE.

There may have been multiple "rentings out" of MGM last night. I know of at least one corporate event, and apparently, at least one family event. (Sorry, but I cannot give out the name of the company, please don't ask)

Either you are the CM I talked to, or MGM has trained you all to be very secreative. Cause when I asked I was just its a very wealthy family and thats all I can tell you. Come on you can let it slip out we wont mind or tell on you

Do you want to get a CM in trouble for revealing the info??? WDW does monitor these boards. Does it really make a difference who it was?

MGM was rented out to AMWAY on December 1st. I asked two different cast members and they both answered AMWAY. Didn't hear anything about a private family......

Was that the reason ToT and RnR closed at 6:30pm? I wanted to ride at least one after Osborne Lights (arrived about 6:30), the park did not close until 8:00. I'd like to run over on Wednesday night but if they are closing at 6:30 again, I don't want to waste my time.
