What is the difference between the fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom? I know people are incredibly passionate and in their feelings about the different shows. Can someone please explain? It also seems like the majority of fans prefer Happily Ever After.
In my personal experience…. Disney Fireworks are fireworks. Pretty colours, big booms, projections, music, and narrative. What’s the difference between them? Don’t get me wrong; I love Disney fireworks and usually tear up but I need someone to explain this to me.

You could watch videos of Happily Ever After and Enchantment on YouTube to see the difference. They're entirely different shows - different fireworks, music, projections, and stories.

I’m with you. I just go and enjoy whatever is showing! I don’t go often enough to remember them specifically.

The biggest change has been the addition of projections on the castle and around the hub to add to the experience.

There is a lot of emotional attachment to these shows. Some guests want to repeat the same experience over and over. They are unhappy with any changes, no matter what they are.

I personally would like a new show every couple of years, but what is "stale" to me might be a personal favorite to someone else who will report they are "devastated" by the changes and the new show is "horrible."

At Disney, there is emotional attachment around every corner. Any changes are bound to stir up someone.

I say keep it fresh! Make changes! Try new things! It's a theme park, not a museum! I've already been devastated when they changed the Napolean in France at Epcot.

I've only seen HEA and Enchantment on YouTube (though was in the park on rides during HEA), so I don't have the in-person attachment to either. The last show I saw in person was wishes.

But given that, I do think the point above about the emotional attachment is true. Most of this Disney stuff works for so many of us because of various emotional attachments, be they nostalgia or otherwise - and HEA, I think, has a more cohesive emotional arc and narrative than Enchantment. That said, someone could easily have built a strong connection to the later based on their experience.

But just from a (YouTube) distance, I do find HEA to be a more thoughtful and effective mix of songs/images/etc.
