Fireworks scheduling during winter?

The holiday schedule isn't up yet for our early Dec. trip but I was wondering if anyone knew of the chances of them being cancelled due to wind or weather? Is Dec. a risky time to see them? Do they show them during rain?

I ask because last year in Sept. we staked out spots and kept the kids up late to see fireworks and of course they were cancelled due to wind. Let's just say the disappointed and cranky little boy was very sad. Just wondering if it's worth making much of an effort to see them or if they are more likely to be cancelled due to winter weather.

If you have a smart phone, keep an eye on the weather/wind prediction and make the call day of. They are spectacular when they do happen - I've never been to DLR when they've been cancelled (we've gone in September and January). I think wind is the only reason they cancel, though with rain they may not have tinkerbell flying if I remember right.

I hate to say it, but yes, December is a "risky" time to see fireworks in some senses. I went the second week of December last year and out of five nights when I was there, they were cancelled for two of them (due to winds). The good news is that once the holiday season starts (mid-November), fireworks are presented nightly, so you should multiple chances to see them. The general advice is to start on the first night of your trip and then work from there.
