Hey Everybody,

I was wondering when the fireworks start and where to be in order to see the show? Is the fireworks show the same this as the fantasmic? Also regarding the parades I've read they start at 3:30 and 6:30 any good spots to be in order to see them?

Thanks,
Matt

Fireworks are typically at 9:25, but check the schedule to be sure. During slower times they are only on Fri, Sat and Sun, so check dates and times for your trip. The best place to watch them is from "the hub", between the partners statue and the castle. YOu'll want a spot where you can see the castle and the Matterhorn. But, to get a good spot there you'll probably want to get there about 90 minute before show time, if not earlier. If you dont want to put in that much time, you can also get a decent view in front of its a small world.

Fantasmic! is not the same as the fireworks. It is held on the water of Rivers of America. Its a show with live action, projections, pyro (fire and fireworks), water, etc. Its hard to describe. Its a "dont miss!". There are usually 2 shows- 9 and 10:30. If you go to the first show you'll want to get there early (1-2 hours) to get a good spot. I recomend the 2nd show. You can get there about 30 min. early and get a spot front and center.

This is one of the rare occasions where I disagree with hlb - just a little. Pretty much anywhere in the hub where you can see the castle is a good spot. But realize on busier evenings it will be wall to wall people around the hub. To be safe you should arrive in the hub 1 hour early, but last summer 20 minutes early would have worked fine when I was there (very surprising to me - we were there 1 hour early). I would not recommend 20 minutes - at least 40 and probably 60 minutes early is what you should plan for.

I do agree with hlb on everything else with regard to Fantasmic, and you can do both on the same evening if you hustle and see the second Fantasmic show (if they have one).

Thanks hlbtimes2 for the info.

Trey, sorry I didn't know you have written a rule on this already. Thanks for the link.

The fireworks show at DL was on Sunday (6/3) for us (but not on Mon or Tue) & was at 9:30pm. Which (along with the Aladdin show) was why we included Sunday for our 3 day trip. fyi.

We arrived at 9:15 & "stood" in Main St. with hundreds of others. I don't know if this has worked for others, but we were standing approx. even with the corny dog stand (if you know where that is).

Right after we got there, they "roped" off a 10 foot swath/path across Main St. By stepping back a couple of steps, we happened to be in the "front row" of this path (let the little kids get in front, of course). Worked well for us. :cool1:

Hound,

How do you know if they are gonna have fireworks on a given night? DLR website? allears?

Thanks,
Matt

DLR website and experience. In high season they are every night but a different fireworks show is given around the holidays. In off-season they are Fri/Sat/Sun only. See

for more info.

We were in the hub last Friday night and the trees were blocking the view of the matterhorn. I'd have to say prime viewing was back on main street a bit to have a clear view of everything going on during the show and to not have trees in the way.

As HydroGuy said, the Disneyland website has a calender (click in your days) which I printed and studied before deciding when to visit.

We had missed the fireworks & Aladdin last time, so we began our DLR visit on a Sunday this time so we could enjoy them.

Did you think the fireworks as good as advertised?

We were in the middle of Main St. about 30-40 yards (towards the front gate/away from the castle) from the HUB....& the view was not obstructed.

The fireworks were great! :thumbsup2

But Aladdin was even a bigger hit. We expected to like it, but we all three LOVED it. We arrived about 15 minutes before show time & lucked out in that we were among the first few in the Mezzanine line.

We sat front row center in the Mezzanine. :woohoo:

It was a great show, & I highly recommend to all.
