Just decided that DL is where I want to see the fireworks this 4th of July. Where is the best palce to watch on Main Street? I was figuring on getting to a good spot around 3 hours early. What advice does anyone have?
Thanks

Crowds on the 4th of July are rivaled only by New Year's Eve (they are even lighter than July 4th some years).

If you want a good spot for the fireworks on Main Street, you want the front of the hub around noon (possibly earlier). There are other good places for the 4th of July fireworks though. Some of the good places are: Rivers of America, it's a small world and the outside of the second story of innoventions. The first two locations you will need to show up 3-4 hours early, the last location you can get away with 30-45 minutes early.

Again, this only applies on the 4th. There is a slightly shorter version that runs July 1-3. Also, there is a new twist that might change things this year and that is the special 4th of July world of color show. But I doubt it will affect much on the actual day of the 4th. Both parks are packed. I would also not expect to get into DL after about noon, unless you are staying onsite or have already been in that day.

Thanks for the reply. Noon, huh for the Hub? Don't think my DH (who is British and not that thrilled with Independence Day in any case) will go for that.

We usually have a group that switches off waiting and we hang out and talk. We just make it a social event. To me that's part of the fourth of July as well as remembering what makes this country the greatest country on earth. Yes, we have our problems, but all in all we still have the most freedom and are one of the few countries where you can be born the to the poorest of the poor and end up being among the richest of the rich through inginuity and hard work. Can you tell that I am indeed proud to be an American?

To me, that is why it is worthwhile to wait. Of course, I also have an Annual Pass, so it's not like I am wasting a day admission either.

I'm considering going to DL for the 4th of July Fireworks show but I'm not sure I want to deal with the crowds and heat. I would suspect that it will be long lines for any of the rides and since I'm a annual pass holder it's no big deal but I'm not sure I want to venture out to DL for just the fireworks. Is it really worth it?

We were there last night. When the parade ended, around 7, people in the Hub began saved spots for the 9:30pm fireworks (which actually started around 9:50pm) right away.
