Eta: Nevermind! Didn't realize the party had a firework show! (NOT a WDW veteran here, lol!)

Almost have our plans finalized for our trip, but my MK day is just not lining up the way I would like. It's a party day and following the crowd calendars, I'd really like to keep our schedule the way it is. So, I have 2 options:

1 - MK day on a MNSSHP day and book party tickets, no other MK day for fireworks.

2 - Spend money we would on party for park hoppers and head to MK after our AK day for fireworks and EMH. We'd also be able to park hop on our original MK day (party day) when we have to leave at 6pm. We would not use our park hoppers any other time on the trip.

We took our older 2 children back in 2011 and they loved the fireworks, but just not sure if the park hopping around will be worth it.

The MNSSHP has Hallowishes!, which is the fireworks for that party, and IMHO those are actually better than the regular MK fireworks.

This is really difficult for me. I like Hallowishes, but a trip to Disney is not complete without seeing the yearly show at the Magic Kingdom which is now Happily Ever After. Since your last visit was during the days of Wishes, I would personally go with option 2 so you can see Happily Ever After. Happily Ever After is a "not to miss" firework show. The only issue is the staking out a spot before the show due to the projections on the castle.

If you are able to, have you considered purchasing a party ticket and going to one park before the party begins with your "day" ticket?

The only problem with this is MK will be the most crowded on a non-party day for a couple reasons...see Happily Ever After and people get the most out of their "day" ticket to the Magic Kingdom. So, I can see why you are wanting to go along with crowd calendars.

I know the person above has a different opinion, but you are going to get different answers from everyone. If you really want to decide on a MK day, I would recommend looking up videos of Happily Ever After and Hallowishes and decide from there. The DIS has videos of both shows on their youtube channel. It's hard to gauge what your family will like, and only you will have the knowledge on what your family will like the most.

You will not be disappointed with the MNSSHP fireworks. They are fantastic!!! Be sure to watch the parade too!

It depends on the child. At 6, mine were scared of most anything - I am pretty sure MNSSHP would have been too much for them (the treehouse was too much). They also wouldn't have done well so late at night. A park hopper would have been much more beneficial as it gives extra flexibility (e.g. if crowd levels are very different than expected).
