My DD cannot handle the wait and crowds to watch fireworks. We usually do dessert parties, but it doesn't look like they will be back for our trip in October. Any suggestions on spots *inside the parks* where we can watch the fireworks?

TIA!

If you don’t care about seeing the projections on the front of the castle, the area behind the castle is a good place to watch. You will hear all the music and see the fireworks, just not the projections.
The area near the castle is wet down and blocked off, but sort of even with the Carrousel on the side by Pinocchio’s is good. Even farther back near Gaston’s Tavern is pretty good and not usually busy.
If you want to see the projections, there are some places you can kind of tuck in by the stones near The Laugh Floor. Because of the stones, no one can get in front of you. Check the spots out ahead of time. The one disadvantage is that you may have to be waiting there a while because people do sometimes claim those spots pretty early. The other disadvantage is some of the ‘tuck in‘ spots have obscured view because of the way the rocks face. But, you can check that out earlier too. fireworks cruise might be an option...

edit: I missed the *inside the parks* note in your post

No worries. I saw it too, but they don't have any dates scheduled during our trip (yet?). I hope it's a sign the dessert parties might return soon as well.

Thank you! We've seen HEA a couple of times, so we wouldn't mind missing the projections. But I wonder how projection-heavy the new show will be.

My favorite thing to do has always been to get an ice cream at Story Book Treats, then find a place to sit to watch the fireworks on that part of Fantasyland.

If I were a betting Rabbit, I would lay a large bunch of carrots on not only lots of projections, but special lighting up and down Main Street as well as some other special effects, based on chatter I have seen so far.

Having said that, as wonderful as Disney projections and/or special effects are, the fireworks still tell a tale with or without them. I find them every bit as beautiful from a balcony at Wilderness Lodge, or the beach at Poly as I do from inside the MK - just in a different way!

Oh - and while it's not *my* personal favorite fireworks cruise (which is Pirates and Pals, because I loves me a silly pirate LOL) this is coming back next month!

I came here with a similar question so thank you for the info!

I don't care about projections but the fewer crowds the better so I'm looking at probably back by Gaston's. I've seen parts of fireworks back there before and it was great for my needs, very quiet crowd wise. It's been a few years since I last did that, anyone know if you can hear the soundtrack in that area?

I am concerned with the current exiting situation. How aggressive is Disney about sweeping everyone out of the parks at close? I'm hoping I can chill on a bench or something while the main surge of people leave the park.

You can hear the music pretty far back - at least you could in the past. Nice part about watching from behind the castle, if you can’t hear from Gaston’s, you can move closer to the castle and you will hear.

We were at WDW in June; I was the only one who stayed late (alone). At that point, they were no more aggressive about sweeping everyone out than before COVID. I’ve also seen photos or videos on different Facebook pages that people posted about their leisurely stroll out of closed parks.

On a regular park close, they are pretty laidback about exiting. On an event night, however, they are going to try to exit people out faster

I just returned from a weekend trip. I parked my scooter in front of Crystal Palace facing the fence. No one was able to stand in front of me, and I had a good view of the top of the castle and the fireworks. I could not see the projections at the bottom of the castle, but I've seen HEA many times and didn't need to see all of the projections to enjoy the show. My family group went up and viewed in the crowd around the Partners statue, and met me over at my spot after the fireworks ended. One other night, my family and I chose to stay back in Fantasyland. We *walked on* Peter Pan about 20 min before the start of the show and could have ridden twice if we wanted to. We watched most of the show back by the carousel, then headed over to Barnstormer (Dumbo is shut down during fireworks). The family walked on Barnstormer and rode it twice back-to-back (without getting off the ride) at the end of the fireworks show. They were up on the top of the hill as the finale was going off, which made for a very fun ride. So for those who have mentioned Fantasyland/Storybook Circus, I agree. An interesting vantage point if you don't mind missing the projections.

anyone know when they will release dates for the fireworks cruise? When you check online the option to check availability is greyed out.I thought that might mean they haven’t released dates not that it’s sold out, but could be wrong.Thx!

if you're not actually inside the MK, is the area between the monorail tracks and the main (magic band scanner) entrance any good for watching the fireworks?

No
because the train station is right in front of you
