Fireworks only on "select nights"...how often per week?

In mid-April we will take our first trip to Disneyland. I noticed the website saying fireworks are only on select nights. What are the odds that we will be able to see fireworks on the 8th, 9th or 10th of April? With World of Color not being guaranteed and Fantasmic! being something we've seen dozens of times at WDW, I am sad to think we will be disappointed by not having "new to us" night time spectaculars to look forward to.

I hope someone else can give you better news, but I believe during the school year "select nights" means not school nights, and I think 8, 9, 10 are Mon-Wed. I have heard something recently about early fireworks (before 8pm, maybe) being allowed on week nights (by the city of Anaheim), but I'm afraid I don't know the details on that. I hope it works out for you.

FWIW, I enjoy Fantasmic even more at Disneyland than at WDW, they are not identical, and do have a very different feel, IMO.

Oh, how disappointing! I had no idea that Disneyland had such restrictions, though I understand the locals needing their quiet time. I sure hope World of Color is up and running!

In the past, things like fireworks and F! were only on the weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sun) during the non-peak periods. So, until the show debuts, that would be my guess for when fireworks will be added to the show. Now, it's possible that they'll present the fireworks-included version on a nightly basis during the peak periods (like Spring Break season, when nighttime entertainment was typically presented nightly).

Oh and if you're not familiar with the wind issues, if they do end up having fireworks during your trip, plan to see on the first night you can. Fireworks are somewhat commonly cancelled for wind, and often right before the start time, so if that happens you can maybe see it on a later night.

Agree with the above posters that 1) it is possible that fireworks will still show nightly during Spring Break -- we'll have to wait and see, and 2) F! is almost unanimously considered to be a better show at DL (WDW has better seating, but DL has the better show). If F! is running during your visit, it might be worth giving it a try.

First off, there will be the projection/dance party portion of the show presented nightly, as near as I can tell, this is considered the "main show" and the fireworks are added as a "bonus" on select nights.

This is actually a brilliant move on Disney's part that solves a long standing problem they have been having in that even when fireworks are scheduled they often have to be canceled due to high winds or other safety concerns and many guests would be very upset about this. I truly suspect that you will find no mention of if fireworks are being added on any given night so that people only expect the projection show and then are pleasantly surprised when fireworks are included.

As for what days they will be add fireworks, I would suspect that during the school year you will see Fri-Sun and during breaks, you will get nightly, weather, crowds and money permitting.

If I change my plans to include Sunday, is there more likelihood of seeing fireworks?

Slightly, but again it is really down to weather on nights where they are planned and honestly, we don't know how much fireworks will or will not add to this show at this point, my guess is that fireworks will be a very minor component even when they are added, the focus really seems to be on the projections and as I said before, that is probably a smart move with how frequently fireworks have had to be canceled as of late.

I think that there will be pyro included nightly at the point since it's in the middle of the 3 week prime spring break season.

At this point, this far out, no one knows what will happen then - often fireworks aren't added to the schedule even at the 6 week mark when the hours are published. And it's always subject to change. The only time we ever experienced daily fireworks when parks closed early was during the 60th celebration when they were daily (weather permitting of course).

Trust me though - your trip will be awesome - fireworks are great and all but they are just one thing and honestly unless you are going during the summer when you can pretty much expect the whole place to be operating at 110%, there's always something to deal with that time of year. It'll still be great!
