So, we are headed to DLR on September 29th and 30th. Hubby really loves the fireworks, but I had heard that they don't typically do fireworks in the middle of the week, in the fall...
Is this true?

They have said they will be running the 60th anniversary fireworks on non party nights throughout the Halloween season.

Per traditional calendars, they won't do fireworks in the middle of the week. There are rumors that they may do the new Fireworks show during the week, but there is no confirmation of that. A few years ago, there was some campaign (can't remember what it was) where they said fireworks would happen everynight, even after summer had ended...but it didn't happen.

However, you do have World of Color running every night over at DCA. At least there's that.

September 30 is a Halloween Party night so "Halloween Screams" will be the fireworks show running that evening (and you'll need a HP ticket to see them), but like others stated, Erin over at the Disney Parks Blog said that "Forever" will be running on all non-party nights this fall, so you should have an opportunity to see them on the evening of the 29th!

September 29-October 2 are my park days. Have a great trip!

AP can only get HP tickets for themselves, correct? We wouldnt be able to have our AP friends get us tickets, would we?

They can get them for you, they don't check the tickets compared to AP's. I bought them for my family when I went and I was the only AP holder.

It should be noted that the last time fireworks ran nightly during the "off" season (Halloween Time is considered by Disney to be the off season, even though it is very popular) was in 2009, when Halloween Screams debuted. HS was presented every single night, all Halloween season long, with the exception of any weather-impacted nights. That sort of 'nightly-fireworks-during-the-off-season' thing cannot happen every year, but I had a feeling that this year would be an exception and that there would be an allowance made for this year only. I predicted that a similar thing could happen this year, because Disneyland Forever is a special show. However, the same weather issues will apply to any fireworks, at any time of year. So if there is wind (even if it's wind that we cannot really detect), there will be no fireworks.

I know you are only speculating, but I hope you are right! By "this year" do you mean until the end of 2015, or throughout the 60th into 2016?

It was confirmed by Erin at the Parks Blog that the Disneyland Forever fireworks will run on all non-MHP nights during Halloween Time. That's a fact (except for any nights when weather impacts the fireworks), not speculation. I had a feeling that the fireworks would run nightly during the off season (as was the case in 2009), because it is a special year -- and that's what is happening.

The exception was made for the off season this year -- the off season does not normally have nightly fireworks. But, again, this is a special year.

I would guess that in 2016 the fireworks will be cut back to the normal schedule in the off season. Disneyland can't continue to run nightly fireworks every year. This year the fireworks will run nightly during the off season, and most likely nightly during the holidays (which is the norm). There may be a break in between Halloween Time and the Holidays, but that break won't last long,

So that's a long stretch of nightly fireworks -- especially on the heels of nightly fireworks in the summer. Next year will probably settle back into a fairly normal fireworks schedule, I would think. That's my guess.

Ooh, good news! So, it sounds like we will have fireworks shows on both of the nights we are there. Hooray!!
