We're going to Disneyland in September for our anniversary and although this is our third trip as a family, we have never done any of the night time "stuff" in the past. This year we've decided to do the fireworks in Disneyland but not Fantasmic or WOC (long story, but they won't work for our little guy--but I can accommodate his needs and make the fireworks work...I think).
We're arriving in California in the mid-afternoon on a Saturday and planning on going into the park then and hopefully trying for fireworks that night. I figure the children will be well rested (they usually go to bed at 7:30 at home, so they're exhausted by the end of a DL trip!) and that will give us one extra chance (on Friday) to catch the fireworks if they're cancelled on Saturday b/c of weather (I think we're going to Legoland on Sunday).
I just watched the fireworks on YouTube and I'm in awe and so excited. I definitely want to try to see them on the castle--seeing Tinkerbell fly will amaze my daughter...who, herself, practices flying on a near daily basis. However I have some questions/concerns that I need advice on.
*I have read that when people are made to stand up, that gaps open up. Is it possible to filter in and fill those gaps (we are a family of four) or will people bite our heads off? I was thinking if we were hanging out in Tomorrowland... I'm assuming that not having a stroller would make this a lot easier.
*Any tips for viewing the fireworks (on the castle) without staking out a spot for hours? We'd prefer to visit Disneyland as a family and my little boy cannot handle staking out a spot for one hour, let alone multiple hours (my daughter could, but not my son.)
*Does Dumbo still fly?
*Is Tinkerbell's harness/guideline visible?
Thanks for the input!
