Hello!

Another trip, another stay at the WL... I can't rememer, can you see the firework from the dock at the Lodge? If not, is is worth taking the boat to the CR to see them. We arrive at 6:30 so we are just planning on dinner and maybe the pool. thought we'd try to catch the fireworks and electrical parade.

First time we are just doing 2 days at Disney before heading to the beach! lets home there are no hurricanes heading our way ;)

Hi-
The fireworks can be seen in small part from the end of the dock at VWL, but the view is not great by any means. I would go over to the Contemp for dinner and try to catch them from there. Good luck! :maleficen

If you don;t want to go over to the CR, just stroll out the front door to the driveway, parking lot. You get a great view of them. We were coming back form MGM one night and could see the MK fireworks great as the bus drive down the road to WL. The next night we just walked out to the driveway to watch them. You can see a little from the boat dock, but the front is a much better view. :wave2:

The view of the fireworks from the dock is mostly blocked, there are better views to be had elsewhere.

We had a 5th floor woods view room on the MK side and had a pretty unobstructed view of Wishes from our balcony - it was somewhat distant though, but cool nonetheless.

Here's my #1 tip for a great free view of wishes. We did this one "non-park" night while staying at the WL. Take the big boat to the MK a little before the fireworks start, maybe right after catching the EWP from the dock at WL. (that will depend on how the times work out) Get off the resort launch and get on the big ferry boat to the TTC. It will be almost completely empty on it's way to the TTC, since most people in the park are waiting around for the fireworks. Go to the top level of the boat on the MK side. If you time it right, Wishes will start at some point during your ride. You don't have to get off at the TTC, just stay on it as it heads back to MK. (You will have this ride to yourself, trust me) This is a a better and more direct view of Wishes than the beach at the Poly or at the CR, because you are higher up and closer. The ferry captain even slowed down so we could enjoy the finale right as he was pulling in to the dock. That was nice because you could even hear the music by then. As soon as it was over, we were the first in line to ride the boat back to WL! :) It work out perfectly, and I'll probably do it again.

Thanks all for the info...maybe I'll try requesting a woods view on that side, too. I think we'll do the boat as that is almost a ride itself to the kids :-)

What a great tip! We are staying at the WL in October and would love another way to see Wishes besides the Cali Grill!! I am not banking on being able to see anything from the room itself, but you never know!

Thanks for the tip!
