Fireworks from the TTC

We are thinking about viewing the fireworks from the TTC this year instead of MK because I heard the views there are terrific, and we very much want to avoid the mad dash out of MK. That is probably the only thing I have a bad memory of at Disney, and this time we'll have TWO children in strollers instead of just one. My main question is, what would be the best way to get back to our resort (CSR) from the TTC? Would we need to get on a bus to DTD and transfer, or is there a better option? My second question is for anyone who has viewed the fireworks from the TTC - is it cool? If it matters, it will be Hallowishes we will be watching.
Thanks!!

we have watched them from the ferry and TTC on are way back from MK and they are great there as far as getting back to CS I have not idea if there is a bus there to take you to hotel or not! Sorry.. can you just drive that night?

The only direct link back to CSR (other than a $20 taxi ride, of course) from the TTC is going to involve heading back over to the MK side of the lake and catching the bus. Along with all of the folks streaming out of the MK who you hoped to avoid. So there's that.

The DTD transfer is going to add at least an hour to your trip back to the resort, but is another option. I haven't tried to catch one in a while, so no idea about the availability of the DTD bus from TTC, but you can also wander over to the Polynesian (about a 3 minute walk from TTC) and catch one there to DTD.

I don't know that I'd call the TTC's view of the show "terrific," but you can certainly see them from there.

An alternative to the TTC is to take a resort boat to Poly and watch the fireworks from the Poly beach. It's an even better view there than from the TTC. You could also ride the monorail or ferry to the TTC and walk to the Poly.

Getting to CSR from the TTC (or the Poly): I'd get back on the monorail or take the resort boat (or TTC ferry) and go back to MK. From there get on the CSR bus. Transportation to/from MK will still be running for plenty of time after Wishes is done to use MK transportation. This is MUCH faster than trying to catch a DtD bus from the Poly (I don't think you can get a DtD bus from the TTC).

The only options to get back to CSR are go back to the MK entrance and take a bus or go to any other open park. To get to Epcot take the Monorail, for DHS or AK take the bus. There are no buses to resorts or to DTD at the TTC.

Here is the major problem, I would say all those park will most likely be closed or if not maybe just closing so you are trading a rush at MK for either a closed park or one also closing.

The only real viable solution from the TTC is a taxi*, but then you have car seat issues.

I think you have to re think this and maybe just watch from the train station and then head to the buses as soon or right before the fireworks end or else you are trading a mad dash with an almost impossible travel nightmare. Going to the TTC from the MK is not going to help your travel situation at all.

Almost everyone that watches from the TTC are people that are parked their and going back to their cars after a day at the MK. Or maybe people who drive there just to see the show and don't want to use a ticket.

*ETA: As per above, walk to the Poly, take a bus to DTD and then to CSR.

I really appreciate the feedback. Sounds like if we want to stay for the fireworks - and we do - with the least amount of travel drama, we need to find the best viewing spot at MK that's close to the exit.

We watched the 4th of July fireworks from the TTC last year. The view was great, not a lot of people were there, and the music was piped in. After the fireworks were over, we took the monorail to epcot and took a bus to our resort from there. Epcot was still open and there wasn't a long line for the bus.:cool1:

After the fireworks are done, why not just sit and watch all the people leave the magic kingdom and be one of the lasts to leave the park and then catch the bus

The reason why I want to leave is because of my 2 year old. We are doing this early in our trip before he REALLY gets exhausted. He won't sleep in the car or stroller, which means when he's tired, he's just going to throw a fit. So I want to see the fireworks and get him in bed as soon as possible. Wish we had the $ to stay at the Contemporary or Poly!!

Having read all of this, my advice would be to go to the Poly before Wishes and watch Wishes from the beach. The GF/Poly resort boats are quite quick compared to the monorail at that hour. The Poly boat dock is not more than a 5-minute walk to the Poly beach. The Wishes view from there is awesome, and music is simulcast there.

After Wishes, get a taxi back to CSR, from in front of the Poly lobby. If there's not one in front of the lobby, have guest services call one for you. It'll maybe be a $15-20 fare to get to CSR, but IMO that's worth it. Great view of Wishes, and no insane crowds to deal with just walking from the Poly beach to the front of the lobby to grab a relaxed cab ride.

I have an ideal. The fourth floor at the Contemporary has a WONDERFUL outside view of the fireworks. They you can just walk back to the bus stop which is between the Contemporary and the MK. It's only about a 2 or 3 minute walk between the two. They pipe the music out there and everything!

I do really like the idea of taking a cab. If anyone has any experience with this while traveling with children who need a car seat, please join in!

I did a little research, and it sounds like the Mears cabs that operate from WDW usually have car seats available, especially taxi vans.

That's good. But if you look in front of the lobby and there are no taxis with a car seat already, you could probably have Poly guest services call one for you that definitely has a car seat.

The Disney buses also have no car seats, so I don't see a difference. Plus I'm fairly sure cabs are exempt from car seat laws in most states. Not that I'm recommending you not use a car seat, I'm just sayin. I do know some cab companies will send a cab with a car seat if you ask for it, probably takes longer for the cab to arrive. Lugging a car seat around Disney would be quite impractical.

The buses in WDW and I guess Florida are exempt, the cabs are not exempt from the car seat laws and a cabbie will most likely not take a child in the cab without a seat if its required.

I work at a taxi company in PA and taxis are also not exempt here but like Florida buses are.

there won't be the typical mad rush after Hallowishes, as it's pretty much in the middle of MNSSHP. The day guests are gone and a lot of the party guests will stick around after.

My DH and SIL and MIL went back before Hallowishes started because they thought about the mad dash from the other night when we went in September. I stayed with DS and DD and there was no dash after, none. We walked into the confectionary and got some halloween treats and then noticed a 10min wait at Mickey meet n greet so we did that, then made our way to the boats for GF. No crowds. If you are doing Hallowishes, you won't have a problem watching them in park and then leaving.
