Fireworks from Polynesian Beach

Does anyone know if they pipe in the sound on the Polynesian beach of the firewords shown at the Christmas Party?

Yes they do. But you have to be pretty close to a speaker to hear anything.

I didn't think that at all. Now, honestly, I am not sure where the speakers were located because I didn't go searching for them. We were sitting about 100 yards down the beach-line from where the nightly movie is shown.

It has varied in the past. Sometimes good sound, sometimes super super low and almost impossible to hear anything clearly.

Heck, it has varied for us during the same trip and we always stand in the same spot.

Yes they do pipe it in and there are speakers in front of the Hawaii Building across the walkway from the beach and near the pool. They put in new speakers 2 years ago that greatly improved the sound. However, you do need to be near them to hear them well. The big mistake I see people make is to get as near the water as they can. That improves the view not a bit but it certainly reduces soud quality.

I don't believe any DVC construction has started at all (there is nothing formally announced for that - just blogger speculation that is probably true, but not confirmed). Just regular renovations they are currently doing on the existing buildings - shouldn't impact the beach.

Yeah, the best was watching the Princess & Pirates party fireworks right from our room patio in Hawaii (1501) and the speaker was right next to us! My favorite vacation!
