Fireworks from Poly

I had read somewhere that someone suggested to go to the beach at the Polynesian and watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom and then stick around for the electrical water pageant 15 minutes later that will go around the lagoon. Has anyone done this? Is it worth wild? I'm looking for something to do with younger children (under 5) that doesn't involve having to wait in line for hours or battle huge crowds when the parks close. We're staying at the CSR. Would it be possible to go to the Poly and then get back to CSR on one of the buses?

We stayed at the Poly last trip and its great watching the fireworks on the beach and the electric boat parade. the kids loved it, they played on the beach,
no crowds to contend with with the little ones.......it was great.
as for getting to and from, maybe a bus to MK, then boat or monorail over to the Poly.

We've stayed at the Poly, and it is fun to watch them from there. We still go to the MK once though because I don't think that can be beat.

As far as transportation, it would be easy enough to take the boat or monorail to Magic Kingdom, but you would then have to deal with the crowds to get on the bus to CSR. Another option is a taxi, but that costs money.

Have fun!

The fireworks on the beach were great! It was a nice, relaxed, non-crowded way to catch the show. To get back to CSR I think you could just walk over to the TTC and catch a bus from there. It's a quick 5-10 minute walk (at the most) from the Poly to the TTC.

We did this last week since we ate dinner at O'hanas. The electric water parade was about an hour before the fireworks, and we missed most of it (but saw it a few nights later from the Grand Floridian). We got to the beach early enough and were able to relax in lounge chairs while waiting for the fireworks. It was great! We took the boat back to MK and then took a bus to our resort. The bus trip took a long time since the first bus filled up before we could get on, and we had to wait for a second bus. One thing that really annoyed me was how many people got on with unfolded strollers and took up space other people could have been standing in. The bus driver didn't say anything, so more and more people left their strollers unfolded when they saw that they could.

We stayed at the Poly on our last trip to WDW, and it was great watching the fireworks from the beach, then the electrical water pagent after. After everything you can take a boat to MK then find the bus stop w/ your resort on it. Then you can just relax!!!!!!!!!
