We have a PS at Chef Mickeys for 6:20 PM and would like to see the fireworks after dinner. The fireworks that night are 8:00 Can we see them easily from the CR?

Also, we are staying offsite and need to park at the Contemporary. How long can we park there for our PS? Could we park there after afternoon nap (we are going with 4 toddlers) and take the monorail to MK and then back for the PS?

Thanks so much. I am new at this and trying to plan a family gathering for 12 people.

I think they allow you to park for 3 hours when you have a PS. You used to be able to go up to the Observation Deck by the California Grill to watch the fireworks, but it is now only open to CG diners. There is another observation area on the 4th floor, but everytime we've been by there it has been closed off for Magical Gatherings or other private events. I suppose you could see the higher fireworks from the pool area, but really the best place to view Wishes is from Main Street! We're big California Grill fans and always have a meal there on our trips, but now that they have changed the fireworks to Wishes, it is well worthwhile to be in the park in front of the castle to see all of the beautiful effects.

Thank you for your reply. How long will it take to eat dinner at Chef Mickeys and get back to the park? Remember we are traveling with 12 people - 4 of which are toddlers.

We could also get PS at Chef Mickeys for 5:00. Then we would have more time to get back to MK, but I'm afraid the little ones will not be able to get back so early if they have naps. We are staying offisite so we need a half hour for transport. What would you do?

Thanks again

You could walk from Chef Mickey's to the front of MK in about 15 minutes. Or, you can ride the resort monorail - I'd say that would take about 20 minutes. You might want to add in an extra 10 minutes to take into account the various ages of your group. Chef Mickey's is a buffet, so eating there doesn't take that long if you have a PS and are seated right away. Allow time to take pictures and interact with the characters (time for this will depend on the group - my family has now been many times, but the very first time took longer). I'd say 1 to 1 1/2 hours for the meal. You could do it in an hour, but you might feel rushed. I'd take the earlier PS time, or try for 5:30.
