Fireworks from Contemporary?

I'd like to see the fireworks at MK but don't want to brave the crowds. I remember reading something about a roof deck to watch the fireworks at the Contemporary, or watching from the restaurant. Can somebody explain exactly how to do this?

The restaurant is called the California Grill and is at the contemporary. They dim the lights and pipe in music when the fireworks start. There are seats by the window, but I have heard the are highly requested!

The restaurant does have a roof deck which you can go out on to catch the fireworks. Not sure if this is just for the restaurant guests or are open to everyone.

The observation deck is now just for restaurant guests. There is still a great view from the observation deck on the 4th floor. Walk to the end opposite Chef Mickeys and just go out one of the doors. There are also small landings on every floor outside of the stairwells.
