My sister and I are taking her little boy (3 years old) in July. We are only going to be there for three full days. I booked fireworks and the Electrical Parade fastpasses. Are they worth it? Or would one or both of them be a waste of a fastpass?

I haven't been since FP+ was introduced either. However, I'm planning on using mine up on various parades/nighttime shows as well. My son will be 2.5 when we go and I have no intentions of trying to get him to sit still for even half an hour to wait for a parade. Plus he isn't tall enough for most of the headliners so we won't be using FP+ on those anyways.
If a good spot for parade/fireworks are important to you, I'd stick with the fastpasses. If you don't care any spot that you can get a glimpse might be adequate and you can use your fastpasses elsewhere. I think it all depends on what your priorities are.

Went in Nov and did like you did, FP for both Electrical Parade and the fireworks.

Absolutely no regrets for the Electrical Parade FP. It is right in front of the castle and makes for an amazing parade viewing/picture spot. We sat right on the curb, and everything looked 10x better passing by during the parade with the castle towering feet from it. For my family at least, I would take this FP above any other at MK since I wouldn't wait an hour+ to get the spot normally, but if I tried I could get any ride with minimum wait depending on the time of day I go.

The Wishes FP is kind of a hit or miss I guess. It is off center so for a small few of the fireworks we didn't have the best angle, but overall it is a great spot since you are so close to the castle. Again I would probably still take this as I wouldn't waste time at MK sitting to grab parade/firework spot.

Thanks for y'all's help. As of right now, I cancelled the fireworks fastpass but plan on keeping the parade one. I just hope little man can stay awake for them, lol. They are way past his bedtime.

Based on my experience last week - I would NOT ever use a FP for fireworks. Stand behind the castle, on the bridge next to the new SDMT ride. Most of the fireworks are set off from the beasts castle anyways. This puts you right in the middle of everything. You can't see the projections on cinderellas castle, but you can still see think fly out. There wasn't anyone within 10ft of us either night we stood there. Perfect view. No crowd.

Last September we used FP+ for the fireworks and had a great experience! The FP area was in the Rose Garden and it was just perfect. It wasn't crowded at all and we were able to SIT on the grass and enjoy the show! Normally we are all standing and my hubby has a little one on his shoulders. We definitely will do it again!

For the Electrical Parade Fastpass viewing spot, are all of the spots curbside? How early do you think you need to be to get one if they're not?

Thinking about using one for the Parade as well. Like others have mentioned, I'm not going to be able to get DS to sit still for an hour.

Not all of the spots are curbside, there is enough space for several people behind those sitting right along the rope/curb. In Nov we ran late and only got there about 10 minutes early and there were PLENTY of curbside spots left, but this was before the rollout of FP+ to the general public so I'm guessing this has changed.
