I just booked this in 2 weeks and now I'm wondering if we will be able to see the images on the castle and
also see Tinkerbell fly?

The pre party is where you stand in the gardens in front of the castle- no?
That’s a better view than the seated party for the projections on the castle.
And you can definitely see Tink fly as well!

The garden viewing area is really nice - a good angle and view. Keep in mind, it's the same viewing area for pre and post dessert parties. When you get to the viewing area, it's likely many post-dessert party-goers will already be there. I'd recommend you head to the viewing area perhaps 15-20 minutes before the show starts. It's not elbow to elbow like Main Street, but it'll be pretty full for the show. We now believe it might be the best way to view the show - some sweets and also not having to battle the really dense crowds on MS....!

I think it's much better to do the Post party because like a poster mentioned you get access to the corral first, so you're towards the front of the corral and you then can take your time eating the deserts afterwards. We did the Pre-party and even with slightly rushing to eat, by the time we got to the corral it was already 2/3 full and we were towards the back, still good viewing, but we had a bunch of people in front of us. As a matter of fact, 3 nights later when we wanted to watch the fireworks again (free), we got a spot right behind the corral and was roughly only 20 feet from where we watched with the party package 3 nights earlier.

I guess my big worry is that I will have my 12 year old autistic granddaughter who is not that great in crowds, which is why I booked this. I'm wondering if I talked to the cast members would they let her get close to the rail and we would take our time leaving

As PP mentioned, consider switching to the post-party. You will go to the garden viewing area first (before the pre-party guests). If you go as early as possible, you can pick a spot by the rail that would work for your granddaughter. The CMs then clear a path for you to get from the garden to the dessert buffet area, but you can also take your time leaving. If you do the pre-party, you will be contending to find spots with other pre-party guests and post-party people will already be in the garden with their spots staked out. If crowds are of great concern, you could try switching to the seated party option, but your view will not be as good.

Disney has a roped-off area for autistic children to view the night parade and fireworks. My cousin just took her son to this. From their pictures, the area appears not crowded and is close to the castle.
