I just booked the garden plaza view fireworks dessert party at MK for our trip in October...we've never done one of these parties. Do I scan my magic band to show that we've bought tickets? Or do I need to bring some sort of hard ticket with me?

If you've done this party what did you think? Was it worth the cost?

Nope, they'll be a desk/check in area at Tomorrowland Terrace around the time of the party they'll just ask for your name.

I actually just wrote about the party in my dining report if you want to check out the review: Happily Ever After Dessert Party Review

We enjoyed it, but I can't say we'd do it again anytime soon if not for a special event (we went opening day of the new fireworks to avoid crowds). The garden view is great though!

No, you don't need to bring documentation. They'll have a list of names at check-in. We did it and the desserts were fine (nothing amazing) and the viewing was great. They also accomodated my gluten-free son very well, btw.

It's worth it if you really want a good view of the fireworks without feeling like a sardine. The Plaza garden view is the way to go.

I also did a review back in May (was there the second night of HEA), here's the link:

Review: Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

I'm a big fan overall. Really more for the reserved area / convenience than anything else but if you're a big dessert eater the options are pretty good. We just did it again back in July (yes, I might have a problem...)

Happy to answer any questions. :-)

To us, it's absolutely worth the cost and we don't really eat a lot of dessert. We've been going to WDW for years and gave up on the MK fireworks because of the time needed to save a spot, some bad experiences with other guests rushing up into our space at the last minute and feeling like we would be trampled as we exited the parks. We finally did the dessert party in December and it was a complete breath of fresh air. We had all the space we could possibly need (could do cartwheels in the garden if we had wanted to) and a direct view of the castle without anyone standing in front of us. We also hung out in the garden as the crowds dispersed after the show. We are doing it again in late August and I can't wait!

We did the plaza view dessert party last December. We weren't going to MVMCP, so there were only three nights a week that non-MVMCP people could see Wishes, and I knew what those crowds would be like and that DH just wouldn't be able to deal. So we did the dessert party, and it was a great choice . I thought the dessert selections were good and varied. There was an ice cream sundae station, and even some fruit and cheese and crackers. Truthfully, I don't think anyone can reasonably eat $59 worth of desserts, but you don't do it for that, even though it's a nice bonus - you do it for the fact that you can sit for a time and snack at a leisurely pace on your desserts and be escorted to a perfect and uncrowded viewing space only a few minutes before the show starts. No standing for two hours and fighting for a view and for room enough just to breathe. I've already made my reservation for this December.

Oh my gosh this sounds like us to a T! This will be our 4th trip to Disney with our son and after a not so great experience trying to watch the fireworks during his first trip we haven't attempted to watch them again...it was for all the reasons you stated. I love the idea of being able to watch them and not feeling crowded! Plus I have a major sweet tooth so the deserts are a bonus!:)

Sounds lovely!! I agree it will be so nice to not have to stress about getting a spot to watch the show!

Since you pay in advance what's the cancellation policy to get money back?
