Fireworks Cruises

I have a fireworks cruise for Xmas day! It is a surprise for my family. We are a family of 8 so it seemed like a good idea rather than a dessert party. We are eating dinner at 6:15 at the Wilderness Lodge. I was told we had the option of leaving on the cruise from either The Grand Floridian or the Fort Wilderness Marina. I was told by a very nice CM that they are equal distance away. I think the boat ride from the Campgrounds might be longer and therefore nicer but I really don't know. On the other hand we might stop by the gingerbread house at The Grand Floridian after the cruise which would be the only time we could see it. Has any body ever done this or have any suggestions. We have to be at the boat at 8:00 p.m.

You can board at Wilderness Lodge marina also. And you can be dropped off, if you want, at the Grand Floridian after the cruise.

That would be a great idea but we are staying off site and need our car. If I remember correctly there is no way to get to Wilderness lodge except by car or boat.

Well, getting back to the same distance the CM told you, the Fort Wilderness or the Wilderness Lodge marina's are quite a bit more distance than the GF from the viewing area. However, all the cruise boats will generally cruise both Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon before the fireworks.

How about if you valet park your car at GF late afternoon, go to MK (boat or monorail) and then a boat to WL. Do your cruise, and get dropped back at the GF for the gingerbread house, whatever other touring (it's beautiful there) and then get your car?

U r too kind but arriving that day in Sanford cuz tickets were cheaper so day is shot, we may not even check in until after cruise. But we have Christmas morning at home which will be good for the two girlfriends we r bringing so they can spend it with their families. Both have moved far away because of school and work.

I m now thinking the Grand Floridian is easier to get to when looking at maps. The road seems to be more major and perhaps we can valet park.

And I was saying to go to MK only as a connecting point to WL, not as a park visit, as you can not take a boat directly from GF to WL.
