I'm planning a trip to WDW next year and I was looking at the DVC website for discounts, etc. I saw that there is a DVC fireworks cruise - has anyone done this and if so, do you recommend it? It looks like there is also a separate fireworks & dessert cruise.....trying to decide which one (if at all).

We have done the fireworks cruise for EPCOT and Harmonious in the past and loved it. Have not yet done the MK fireworks cruise, but have heard it's also a fun evening. The Harmonious cruise is private, which we enjoyed. I think some are for a set number of people and you'll share a boat, but again - no firsthand experience in that area. If you're considering it, go for it and enjoy a different experience. Just be ready at 60 days to book, because they're aren't that many boats and they seem to book quickly.

Thank you! Our visit is in March so the 60 days will be here before I know it. I appreciate your input! 😊

We did the Pirates & Pals Fireworks cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon several years ago while staying at Bay Lake. It was something special and my daughter and son both really enjoyed both the desert party and getting to see the Electrical Water Parade up close which we'd seen from our room most nights out on the lake as well as the MK fireworks.

After it was over with we discovered the magic of staying at Bay Lake and not having to catch a taxi/ride share or having to go over to MK for a bus in order to get back to our hotel which is something we hadn't considered until we saw a lot of the other passengers having to deal with that.

There used to be one for Epcot but that one seems to be missing from the list of available fireworks cruses. I was thinking of doing that one since we don't have park tickets this year, but I guess that's not going to happen. Oh well, best laid plans...?

Wait. They absolutely still do those cruises. Each night there are 5 boats leaving the BC/YC marina. We confirmed this firsthand recently. You need to call the 407-wdw-play phone number. Can start 60 days in advance, and they go quickly. You can’t reserve online. You can still make it happen!! Good luck!

My advice with cruises and renting pontoon boats... Always ask if they take the DVC Blue Card discount. Last few times (before covid) we did, we got a nice discount.

I didn’t even know that pontoon boats could be rented out!

Thanks, I looked online and didn't see it. I will try calling the number you provided to see if I can reserve a cruise. :love1:

I called 407-wdw-play and they do still have the Epcot firework cruise available. The cost was going to be $424.94 for the two of us and there were no discounts available, so I passed on that. I was feeling a little frugal and also thinking I could just as easily buy a one-day pass to Epcot and see the fireworks that way for a lot less money. My husband was happy with my decision. LOL 😉

You just need to find some Disney friends to split the boat with you :) Less than $55/pp if you have 8.

Last time I booked the DVC MK cruise it was $75/pp. They had us waiting in the room at the Contemporary marina, gave us our glass of champagne and chocolate covered strawberry, and an hour later said we were not going out due to weather. They walked us over to the area in front of the conference center to watch the fireworks. We were only refunded half the cost - I was NOT happy about that.

I think I’m going to skip the cruise. I called Member Services today and heard all the different options. I’d miss out on seeing the projections if we are on the cruise so I think I’m going to try for a dessert package at MK instead.

Agreed. Since the MK fireworks show has changed to include the projections as a big part of the experience, the MK cruises seem to lose a little bit of the impact. On the other hand, after the show, you're not elbow to elbow getting out to your resort - you just take a nice leisurely boat ride back! But while we've enjoyed the EPCOT fireworks cruise (and will do them again), we won't do the MK going forward for the reason you have stated here. We feel we want to see the projections - and eat desserts!
