Hi can you take your wedding cake (or whats left of it in the evening) on your cruise? I know the Grand Floridian lets you order cake from them but if you have already got your cake and maybe have a layer left, can you take this on with you to eat during the cruise? Technically its a disney cake your eating :confused3

Yes. We once got a cake delivered to a restaurant and carried it on an IllumiNations cruise with us. Our captain even dug up some plates and utensils when we showed it to her!

Thanks, you are so helpful! Im pretty set on having 2 x pontoon boats for a wishes cruise and having some cake on the boats. I do also love the idea of an epcot dessert party tho.........what did you prefer?

Well, I'm not a huge Wishes fan so I haven't done one yet, but the IllumiNations cruise was all right. I think I prefer being closer to the fireworks than you can get on a boat at Epcot—they park just under the bridge between UK and France. On the other hand, the pre-fireworks cruise down to DHS and back was pretty fun, so it's still a neat experience.

Is it possible to hire the Grand 1 or the pontoon boats just for a trip round the lake before the fireworks? Does anyone know how much this would be? I am planning to have about 20 guests so might need 2 pontoon boats? Thanks

Hi i've looked into getting 2 pontoon boats as there will be about 20 of us afaik. I found this info:

MAGIC KINGDOM WISHES CRUISE (PREMIUM)

25' Tracker Pontoon

Price: $346.13, tax included for up to 10 guests. Price includes pontoon boat, driver, water, soda, bagged snacks and audio feed of the fireworks music -Guests may order Private Dining to be delivered to the cruise. The sound from the fireworks show is provided on the boat

X 2 = $692. I dont know how long this cruise lasts for though but i think i seen something somewhere saying it leaves half an hour before the fireworks are due to start.

Also have some info on the Grand I as I had looked at this too but its not big enough for 20 ppl.

VIP CRUISE ON GRAND I YACHT – a 45-foot Sea Ray yacht staffed by a captain and deckhand, 17/18 guest maximum, available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Price: $480 for 60 minutes $720 for 90 minutes $960 for 120 minutes Call (407)-824-2682 to book.

Hope this helps, Eve

Thanks that's great, do you know if the prices are different if you want to go earlier in the day say 6pm or is that not possible?

The price for the Grand 1 has actually been $520 + tax per hour for some time now—I wish WDW Info would update that page already! The price does not change with time of day, and there is a 2-hour minimum at the holidays.

:worship: thanks Carrie, do you know if the pontoon prices are right or are they out of date too?

Yes, that price is correct, although there's also a cheaper cruise with no audio feed for $292.88 incl. tax. It only seats 8 people though.
