Fireworks confusion!

There were two facts that I always thought were true about fireworks:

1) You have to get 240,000 or over to win fireworks magic, and you have to place second or lower.

2) You can only win fireworks magic once.

Has something changed? I played fireworks with my main character today, as nearly all of my mules have won the pin. I played for fun because I like the game. I came first, with 247K. When I finished, I received a message that said:

You were once AGAIN (in caps) the best player at fireworks. Besides the 150 for winning and the 40 for making it to round five, I won the fireworks magic pin. Again. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it new?

Maybe it is my lucky day? I beat Blast in Space for the first time today also. Hmm.

My main character has won fireworks magic 8 times now...

You have to win it once the old way I believe. Then for every so many first place finishes you get it again- I never can keep count but I think it is 20 or 25 first place finishes

So no you aren't crazy just good at fireworks lol

I play a bunch because although I can get more points catching ghosts I get less frustrated blowing up fireworks.

Thanks so much for the response! Can I tell you how much I stink at Haunted Mansion? Everyone raves about what an easy way it is to earn credits, but not for me! I have no control over my character whatsoever. She never moves where I want her to and every time I turn on my ghost sucker-upper machine, my toon turns away from the ghost and gets nothing. Now THAT I find frustrating!

I'm with you - the Haunted Mansion is frustrating, for exactly the reasons you describe. It's very hard to move around. However, with the bounty per ghost, it doesn't take much to get a lot of credits (esp. compared to other games) as long as you can put up with the frustration.
