We will be going to Disneyland next week and I wondered how their fireworks compare to Disneyworld? Are they about the same. I thought DW's were spectacular!:woohoo:

The show at DL, if winds dont' cancel it, is so much better than WDWs. IMHO! Tinkerbell flies differently and it is so cool. Also, they use projections off the castle and the Matterhorn. Not to be missed if at all possible.

disneyfaniaz is right i had my share of DLR fireworks and then WDW ones and DLR MUCH MUCH BETTER

While both shows use projections on the castle, they are very different. In my family, everyone who has seen both Wishes and Remember Dreams Come True thinks that Remember is better.

The major difference between the shows(which share some common musical cues) is that Disneyland's show recreates some of the most famous and beloved park attractions as fireworks. Imagine seeing E-tickets in the sky. And if this is hard to imagine, just give it a try. This show is not to be missed.

Until we saw Remember Dreams Come true. The first time we saw it my wife said that Wishes was still better but then when we made our return engagement she agreed with me that DL was better.

The secret recipe like SleepingJedi referred to is that they incorporate all the famous rides into the fireworks presentation. What I absolutely love is riding all the rides all day and night, having fun with the family, taking in all the sights and sounds of DL and then reliving those memories in a fireworks show.

My kids still get excited during the haunted mansion sequence, then the pirates "Dead men tell no tales" where it is like there is a battle of shooting from matterhorn to the other side of the castle, and then tink. Man oh man is the tink flying so much better at the land than WDW.

I wonder how I will feel when I return, if I ever do, back to the world. I feel sorry for those who haven't witnessed DL and all its glory.

So to add an additional question.......... The fireworks in the off season are only on weekends?? Correct?

This is correct, except during early December, the holiday fireworks are shown daily.

DH and I went on our first trip to WDW in May. We enjoyed Wishes, but it doesn't hold a candle to Remember at DL. The fireworks are a must see each time at DL!

These answers are really surprising me! I thought for sure this would be the one area where WDW would be better. Wow!

...then the pirates "Dead men tell no tales" where it is like there is a battle of shooting from matterhorn to the other side of the castle, ...

Oh I LOVE the battle sequence. My pictures weren't all that great, nor was the spot where we were standing this last time, but I still put three of the pictures from the battle into my photobook. :goodvibes

The WDW shows would probably be cancelled less since they don't have to worry about burning down their neighbors since they don't have any!

It's one thing to tell a story, which Wishes does very well, but it's another thing altogether to transform Sleeping Beauty Castle into all sorts of famous and beloved park attractions. I think that's why RDCT is better. Wishes uses projections on the castle to make it look different whereas RDCT uses projections to transform the castle into the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, the Main Street Electrical Parade, and even the Death Star.

I know it's hard to believe if you've only seen Wishes, but Remember Dreams Come True is SOOO much better. Without a doubt the best fireworks show Disney has ever created. Make sure you watch it from somewhere in the front of the castle/Main Street area in order to get the full experience.

Haven't been to WDW, but I would not miss Remember. It really is great, have to say I usually get more then a few tears in my eyes during it! Especially when they have Walt talking!

Absolutely true. You must be able to see the castle to get the full and proper exerience. It's even worth waiting a couple of hours to see it from that location. It's that good!!

My 3 yr old LOVES Remember!

Just remember to be patient with them if there are possible delays. If it's a day when the fireworks are set to go off at 9:25, then the latest that Anaheim will let them complete the show is 10pm. If there are wind issues - which has been happening a lot lately, they will send recorded delay messages over the lodspeakers until 9:45. At that point, they have to cancel.

Another thing to note is that Fantasyland won't re-open until after the fire marshalls have done a thorough walk-through of the area. The quickest way to get back in there is from the Parade route path between the castle and the Matterhorn, then hang a left at the teacups. There is a secondary rope to get Peter Pan. (Done this way too many times...)

Also, don't be bummed if they also have to cancel in the middle of the show. We were at the 4th of July show, Friday night, and they had to stop it in the middle. Such as shame, as they we only set to do it one night (we wanted to go back tonight - it's 2am now, and they said they were back on with Remember), but it was such an expensive holiday show, that they had only allotted for one night's performance of mortars. What we did see of it was phenomenal! It made us want to go back next year to catch it again.
