imo, you want to be able to easily see the left side of the castle... which is my left if I'm standing facing the castle. There is a 'globe' that you want to be able to see.... it's a crush up front, they start at 9:30pm and for a spot right up against the fence you would probably need at least 45minutes if not more and be prepared to be jam packed in.
So if I have claustrophobia and really cannot handle being smooshed by people I should just accept that I won't get the full affect? Maybe I'll have my family see it and I'll stand somewhere else. I really hate for them to miss out because of me.

There were lots of people sitting where I was which made it less claustrophobic imo. Lots of people standing around me is more annoying because I'm short.
tbh, I think that it's hard to get a 'perfect spot' for so many of the shows without a lot of time and a proven tactical plan so I've tried to adopt the even a bad spot is still a spot in disney philosophy.

That's a great attitude! I'll try to remember that when I am there next week. Being vertically challenged I often see the back of someone's head. As long as I see something though it's better than nothing.
