Fireworks at Contemporary

From the Member website:
Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash) may enjoy access one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2017.

Blockout dates apply for Top of the World Lounge, including but not limited to: December 30 — 31, 2016; July 3 — 4, 2017; and December 30 — 31, 2017. Current operating hours are 6:00 PM to midnight.

Accessing the Lounge

This perk is available for our Members and their guests. People who are in that Member's traveling party and staying on that Member's reservation are also eligible to visit Top of the World Lounge. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current MagicBand or card in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. A Disney Vacation Club Membership Card is also required to verify Membership.

Parking & Transportation

Parking is only available to those staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation.

Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

Availability

This special access to Top of the World Lounge is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

I have only had to show my member ID to access the elevator to reach the lounge. I've never had a CM check to see where I was staying.

I see my DVC on MDE and I have my card. I hope to go up one night to see the fireworks from the lounge. Thanks for the info.

I have and we stay at CR yearly for about 12 nights. They usually will scan our MB to confirm staying on property.

If they are not crowded, they have the discretion to let you up. But you risk not getting in if you are staying off Disney property. So I would assess how flexible your party would be to a sudden change of plans.

Can we go to see the fireworks at the lounge if we are members but not stay at DVC this time?
Where are you staying? Officially, you can access the lounge as long as you're staying on property. Note that you are not allowed to park at the Contemporary to visit the lounge.

You just have to be staying in a Disney resort on site. And it can't be July 3 or 4 or Dec 30 or 31. Those dates are reserved for DVC members staying at BLT on those nights.

Is Top of the World Lounge one of the perks that a person that bought resale does not get?

Resale buyers have access to TOTWL because it is paid for by the BLT owners and not Disney.

We are staying on property for the first part of our visit so we will be sure to go there during that time to experience it at least once in the 3 nights on property. Is there any other DVC functions we can do? I remember welcome Wednesday and something that use to be at the Top lounge.

Wednesdays were canceled by DVC management. There is a member lounge in Epcot for qualified members.

Thanks Bill, we qualify for the lounge by staying onsite and have DVC. We understand that there is limit to the number of people and will be flexible. What other things are there to do? We saw there is lounge in Epcot. I went to the DVC page but it is down.
