We want to try to book our ADR at California Grill so we can see the fireworks...How do I know what time to try to book? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the restaurant Boards!
We usually have the best luck getting our ADR's about an hour before fireworks time. This allows for some time in case there is a delay in getting seated and usually puts us somewhere in mid-meal when the fireworks begin.
Last Saturday our ADR's were for 8:00 and we were seated around 8:15. We all had drinks and then ordered appetizers. Our server then asked if we were going out to watch the fireworks and when we said yes, she told us she would hold the entrees until we got back in. Worked out just fine!!!

We had adr for xmas day last year at 9:15pm and wishes was scheduled for 9:00pm We checked in at 8:50pm and were brought up right away. We were seated right away and had a great view of the fireworks. The waitress also told us we could go out onto the observation area if we wanted (2 of us did, as did many folks who were at the bar). The meal is very leisurely, so be prepared to be there for quite a while. The experience is quite wonderful.

We prefer to schedule our ADR so that Wishes is NOT in the middle of our meal. We prefer to watch them before or after we eat. As mentioned upthread, you will be allowed up to watch even if your table is not ready, and you can also stay to watch them after you are done. That's my favorite, actually, to eat our meal, getting up and leaving the table for someone else, then walk out to the roof to wait and watch the fireworks. :goodvibes

We just ate at CG on Dec 6. Our ADR was for 8:25pm with Holiday Wishes at 9:30. The hostess who brought us to our table informed us it would be wise to go out on the observation deck at 9:15pm, since it can get crowded out there. She also said to give your waiter/waitress a heads up that you are headed outside so they are aware. Our waitress was extremely pleased that we let her know, so I would suggest doing this. It was a wonderful view and a new experience. Of course it was the one evening that I left both the video camera and the digital camera in the room...what was I thinking??!! I'm still kicking myself for that one!

Thanks for your responses :goodvibes Wishes is at 10 that night so I made our ADR for 8...yea!
