Fireworks And Light Shows

Can someone please explain all of the fireworks and light shows that go on? I am confused as to what I want to do??

Magic Kingdom

Fireworks: Wishes. It is a beautiful display over the castle set and timed to music about how wishes comes true and how it's always good to have a special wish. The castle also is part of the show having designs displayed on it. They are fantastic and always bring tears of joy to my eyes - for many this is their fave.

Parades: Spectromagic is the night parade, although it is not run nightly - except during peak holiday times. It is a combo of lights and fiber optics and wonderful music. There are many characters and floats also decorated. At certain points the lights will change from colored to white and back again. The characters interact with the spectators from time to time and they make it fun. Make sure you get a spot early!!! When it is run twice a night, the 2nd showing is usually less crowded. Definately not to be missed.
The Dreams Come True parade is the afternoon parade. The characters are in floats that are giant snowglobes and highlight special stories and characters.

If you are doing the Pirate & Princess Party, there are special fireworks & a parade, but I've never done it, so I don't know anything about them.


EPCOT

Fireworks - Illuminations Reflections of the Earth is the night show. It takes place in the lagoon and is a combo of fireworks and laser lights. It is beautifully themed to showcase the different countries and cultures of the world. A large globe moves through the lagoon and displays many pictures and movies on the different countries and opens up to display some pyrotechinics that can be felt from far away. It is beautiful.

MGM (Hollywood Studios)

Parade - It's brand new and is called Block Party Bash (I think). There is supposed to be ALOT on interaction between the characters and the spectators. It was a highlight at Disney's California Adventure and was brought over here. I've never seen it, but there is a nice review with pictures on the main page.

Animal Kingdom

Parade - Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade. It has floats with generally the main Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc) dressed in jungle attire. They also have large abstract looking jungle animals and CMs. It is my least fave and only saw it once.

IMO MK and EPCOT are the best picks (although I've never seen the block party parade) and if you've never experienced them, you should - even if you're not a parade person. If you have any other questions, please ask away
