Fireworks and dogs

My Shadow doesn't mind them but my Skye has always been terrified and I don't want her transferring her fear to Shanti so I've bought an Adaptil plug-in and spray. Has anyone used this before and did it help?

We never had a problem with the westie he used to love being in the garden with fireworks going off, we got the collar version when we got Woody the beagle for a number of reasons one being that he was very young the when Bonfire night came, it seemed to work and to help him settle when we got him and now he doesn't require it.

We went for the collar as it was with him all the time but then we only have one dog. So I would say they worked for us & i hope they work for your dogs

I had the plug in when we got our last kitten (sorry only have cats) but I can say it did work

I hope it works OK for your dog, my old dog used to be scared of fireworks and thunder & lightning, so it was a nightmare for her at this time of the year, we used to have to keep her in with the TV on

We have two dogs, who are the same, scared of fireworks etc, they both will be in the living room with us with the TV on very loud! I don't think the plug in would help as the noise of fireworks would keep them in such a high state of anxiety

And I'm delighted to report that it was a great success.

Although Skye got a little anxious, it was nowhere near on the scale that she's been other years, and Shanti wasn't bothered at all. I'll definitely be using this next year and am also going to use it next time it thunders.
