Fireworks Addicts Thread

:wave2:

Yes, I am now a fireworks addict too. I tried to learn fireworks to get more credits, gave up playing haunted mansion and pirates, and now I can't stop playing fireworks!! I am stuck and cannot get over 259,000. It is driving me crazy, because I will never get the green car. I do everything that everyone else has said, but has anyone while waiting for the next level to begin, accidentally move the mouse off the page, and then you can't find it when the first firework comes out???? It's has happened to me a few times, I really don't know how I do it!!
Hope to see all you addicts in the lobby!!!

I don't have a signature, but I am known as MorganM on VMK.

So, are you agreeing to the pattern that the extra fireworks pins are coming in at the rate of one pin for every 10 winning games, and one pin for every 10 nonwinning 240K+ games?

I didn't keep exact count, but as others have said, that pattern has seemed about right for me since the beginning of April. I got my first one in late November/early December for getting over 240,000 but not winning, got a random one in March I believe for winning again, and since then I've gotten 4 more for either winning or getting over 240,000 and not winning. Just got another one tonight for the latter. I don't think I played again after that, so I'll have to keep count.

And add me to the list of addicts. :thumbsup2 Even before it paid so well, there was something about this game that just made me determined to get better. My very first game, I got around 200,000. Took me a month to get to 240,000. Stopped playing for almost 3 months due to illness, and then was able to get 240,000 regularly. Last month I was able to get in the 250,000s regularly, and now I'm getting up to 265,000 fairly often.

My main problem is my connection. Dial-up makes this game a nightmare. :badpc: I can have a great game going when the whole thing "hangs" so to speak, and all of my actions are delayed but the fireworks keep flying. One game last week, I really had a shot at getting 270,000 when it did that and I only barely got 260,000 then. Tonight was really bad and I only came in the 240,000s 3 out of the 5 times I played.
Other time I got 259,000 and then 261,000 or so.

And yes, whoever said you get all flawless, get excited, then either miss one or get awesome... and then it snowballs from there? Been there, done that. At least once a day. What a cruel, cruel game. :lmao: Seriously though, it does drive me batty. :sad2:

My name is Cruiselinefan on VMK and I am a Fireworks Addict!!!

I am a converted addict ever since they increased the credits but also since I have sooooo many problems playing my beloved Jungle Cruise Game (won't load most of the time).

My best score to date is 269,975 and I am ever so close to breaking the 270,000 mark.

Players I see on a regular basis: ArwenQueen, Laurabearz, DisneyLlama, Navimap, WDWTigger. I am on in the morning to play which is why I may not see some of you later on.

My biggest complaint: having that game of your life and getting disconnected before the final round. I was heading into Stage 5 one day with a score of 210, 999 and disconnected before the start of the last stage. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I am also guilty of stopping early for credits, but if I recognize a fellow DIS player, I will go for the high score just in case they are working towards a quest or credits (I can always play another round for credits)

I miss my jungle cruise game~it is so frustrating that it doesn't load most of the time. I can get into the game with firefox but firefox doesn't seem to work well so I cannot score high when I am using that browser.

Yes, something similar happens to me. Something triggers another window on my desktop to the be "active" one, probably because I've inadvertently clicked somewhere I wasn't watching, and until I can click on the window with fireworks, I can't get anywhere. Family knows to give me a wide berth when I'm frustrated with fireworks.

I am so addicted to fireworks it gets me mad when everyone sand bags!

There I said it. It is a peacefull thing to know that even If I am in 5th place going into the final round, that I will win. (winners never loose and losers never win HA!)

As far as fireworks magic... I want to toss this into the mix. When you win a pin, ask if others won it too. It seems if one wins, all win.

To test this theroy... if any of you who keep track, let me know when your a game or two away from when you think you will get magic, and we can play together... my bet is if you get it, I will get it.

I average at least 1 fireworks pin a day (on days when I play that is) sometimes I have even gotten two in one day.

And Lauralee... you are THE best sandbagger I have ever seen... (now stop it!)

I'm a fireworks addict myself... although I have been avoiding it lately- not really on purpose= just not spending as much time on the game.

I think I have had all the frustrations you mentioned- but I think the worst is time is ticking down for a game and you get a trade request with like 20 seconds to go- you tell the person "I'm playing the game" cancel the request- and up pops another followed by plz plz plz...

I vary on whether or not a will play to win or play to score credits... I mostly will play on because I often forget to stop playing lol- or if my score is good I want to see if I can beat my all time high score which is around 265. My bank of credits is high enough that I'm not usually all that concerned if I get the lower credits for first vs sandbagging to get second place and the extra credits- but if I'm playing on kids accounts to build their credits or on a mule shopping for gifts- then you better believe I will sandbag for fewer games lol

My average is about 250 though.

And I believe I have played games with just about everyone. I know when dh plays he will ask if people are playing to win or for credits- and will assist them with either one lol

And as far as magic goes- that sounds about right- I actually hardly played in April- except for the quests and a game here and there- but the ratio and separate counts for wins versus over 240 sounds about right-

and I agree I do wish they would fix the major credit deficit between first and others... that just isn't right- maybe give first place winners something else- a crate would be great- at least there'd be something I could stack somewhere in a big block lol...

Hey you fireworks fans!

I am trying to find my friend bestweathergirl who plays that game a lot! If she is playing with you let her know WookieColada 9Bear) is looking for her here. Ask her to post a message here. Thank you! :hourglass

I once scored 140,000 at that game and that's about as high as I can go.

But I am wondering...for those of you that play nonstop...what were you doing before you started playing this game? What do your spouses/kids say about this? Are you spending a lot of time on the computer instead of with people?

I myself love the Pirates game and spend a little more time on it than I think is healthy. Are you guys concerned about that at all?

I do remember only getting that high- I recall the small accomplishments- like 75,000 and then 100K then 150 then 200 and struggling for a while between 200-220 and then moving up slowly... you just have to keep playing it comes- but I think the length of time it takes keeps some from trying- I had dh encouraging me most of the time...

But I am wondering...for those of you that play nonstop...what were you doing before you started playing this game?
Before I started playing fireworks I neded a bunch- I was great friends with ned and actually got to where if I actually play the game I can get 50K+ pretty easily- pirates is sometimes frustrating for me- I can play at times and can't at others so I wasn't a big fan- and HM didn't come into existance until after I started playing fireworks...

What do your spouses/kids say about this? Are you spending a lot of time on the computer instead of with people?
My spouse plays the game so he is totally supportive until I started to beat his own scores... he is still alittle better than me but not by much and if I can make him play in a bad spot in the living room I can still beat his scores lol
Kids- the youngest love me to play= especially if I'm on their characters building up credits- the older kids yell about us being addicted to VMK as they hop on the computers and get on their own games or chatting with friends and won't get off lol

I myself love the Pirates game and spend a little more time on it than I think is healthy. Are you guys concerned about that at all?

Sometimes- I know I have gone way off the amount I used to play- I was worst when the credits increased and ice was available- I had to have the ice and the credits were a great side benefit... lol

I play VMK on a lap top- so when I play I'm sitting in the living room in the middle of all the kids... and all- and I find it not much different than watching tv- with the exception that when I'm in the middle of a really good game I hate to quit for things like the door or phone or the baby wanting his diaper changed- lol but if need be I take care of it- I've actually gotten pretty good where I can play with the baby on my lap- he prefers to watch pirates or Jungle cruise to Fireworks and ghosts- but he will watch it all

This is the ugly side of addiction folks. Move along. Rant over.

OUCH!!! I feel your pain! lol. I once went into the last level with 211,000 and got dc. No biggy right? LOL  :rotfl2: We are here for you Demonllama! People who know your pain...feel your pain....LOL. :grouphug:

:grouphug:
Thanks!

I have a much better perspective on firework this morning. Amazing how clarity comes on you when VMK is closed! :rotfl:

Lmao Dis...I know what you mean...one of those "throw the pc out the window" moments. I've been dc a lot but never while having a top, top game thankfully. Also crashed a couple of times which is annoying. Certainly hardly ever dc now...if I'm playing a few, I will relog after two games.

The one thing I think we should all write to them about is the scoring for first and second. To me the most annoying part of the game is people stopping at 240k. You could be trailing someone by a grand or two most of the game, have a great last level and they stop...you never know just how it would have ended if they had carried on. It really spoils things. Right now, if I am in a game without friends, I will not look at the table in between levels, so I can just concentrate on playing a good game without worrying who might do the stop. If they can't change the scoring, maybe as said before, give an extra prize for winning.

I know players do it cos they need the credits, but why not just play two games and try to win!

Sorry, rant over!

I'm with you, mad. At least now that I know I'm getting magic every top ten wins it's a little easier to take.

The most maddening part of last night was that I had just refreshed for the game and I didn't DC -- it just shot me back to the lobby after Level 5, Round 1.

There I am standing around in the lobby while my fireworks game goes on without me.

Hi! :wave2: It's me. I'm still playing fireworks.

Has anyone ever got the Elusive All Flawless stage one of level one? I got pretty close, all flawless and ONE Awesome. :)

Yes, I completely agree. We should most definitely keep writing to vmk about the scoring system; it's just not right and completely unfair. Those who win are the losers, really. I never stop at 240,000; I'm too proud of a fireworks player. lol But it is irratating to know you could have had a potential good game against someone, only to have them stop at 240,000. Grr

I got all flawless of the first stage of Level 1 just a couple days ago. I was so excited lol. But that's it. I don't know how people get all flawless on the other stages. :confused3

I'm still trying to get my score up. I have increased my average from 240s to 250s...but that's a long way from 270. Is that what is still needed for the green car?
