Hi Everyone - I am traveling down to WDW from 7/2 to 7/8 and am skipping the parks on July 4th due to the crowds - we will hopefully go to a waterpark . I am staying at OKW and was wondering where I should book dinner so we can arrange to view fireworks someplace - maybe at the poly on the beach or chef Mickey's ? I would love some input .. Thanks Michelle
(maybe i will get lucky and get an Illuminations Cruise!but incase I don't though I need a back up plan)

You'll be able to see the aerial fireworks from Epcot anywhere on the Boardwalk, and you should be able to see the aerials from MK at the Poly or from the 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary. Be advised that ALL possible fireworks viewing locations will be packed solid with people on J4!

You can view the MK fireworks from the Ferry Landing. You dont need a ticket to get there. In late afternoon parking is free, Just come in, park and walk to the landing. Actually it's the best view, Personally, as you can see the perimeter fireworks best. I have a DVD on ebay right now with the fireworks (not 4th of july, just standard wishes) from the Landing to get an idea.

For Epcot, you can even see from the parking lot and off to the right.

BEst spot is Boardwalk, but if that's too crowded, get a temporary parking pass to CBR. Tell them you want to see the place for a possible visit.

Anyways, when you get there, you can sit on the beach of Port Royal and see them. YOu can see them perfectly (it's right across the street of the back of WS) and even hear the music.

Also, you can perfectly see the Illuminations from a spot on a sidewalk just outside of the entrance to the Disney Studios. You can see them perfectly.

I will be there at the same time! July 2-10
We have 2 different plans for the 4th and are not sure which one we will be using...
1) Dinner at the California Grill is supposed to have a great view of the fireworks at MK
2) If we want to be really crazy, we will do wishes at MK, then run over to Epcot for illuminations (they are supposed to be far enough apart that you may accomplish this)

I would rather go during a slower time of year, but this is my daughter's dream vacation, and who am I to ruin it?

Hi there Tara -- Where are you staying and how old is your Daughter?( mine is 11 and my son is 8 and we will be at OKW ) maybe we will run into each other!! I am going to try and snag an Illuminations Cruise - I just want a back up in case we don't get one so that we can see the fireworks .. Thannks for the input so far

My daughter is 11 too (or she will be when we go, her birthday is in April)
We are staying at the CBR ... maybe we can plan to meet up?
This is a very special vacation for us, so we are looking to do many things I normally would not do because of the expense (like category I Cirque de soleil!)
How much does the illuminations cruise run?
Tara

Just an FYI that they do check resort ID's at the Poly on 4th of July. While you'd be more than welcome to make a ps there for a meal, the beach is reserved for resort guests. Didn't want that to end up being your Plan B and then be disappointed.

Oh Thanks I wasn't aware of that .. Michelle
