Firework/snow show timing question

We are arriving this Friday 11/25 and have 3 nights when we could possibly watch the fireworks at 8:45 p.m. My DD5 has never seen fireworks and is pretty excited. But she is MOST excited to have the snow fall on her afterwards. She's never seen real snow either! Two firsts for her in one night!

My dilemma is that we don't want to stake out spots for the fireworks/snow 1-2 hours beforehand. I know that my DD5 will be exhausted since her usual bedtime is 7:00 p.m. and despite having "nap" time, there is really no chance that she will actually sleep in the afternoon. So I don't want to torture her (or myself) by waiting for the fireworks for 1-2 hours.

On every day we will most likely have been resting at the PPH for a while before dinner in DTD. Then we were thinking of going to watch the fireworks at 8:00-ish. What should I realistically expect at that time? Are there places to watch that are less desirable and less crowded that we can head toward more last minute? I just have to be able to be near the snow fall areas!

Can you walk down Main Street when the fireworks start and just stop and watch? Or do you have to have a "place" that is out of the way of a walkway?

Thanks for any tips and advice!

Just this last Friday my mom and I found a great place to watch both fireworks and Fantasmic! by the Rivers of America. Facing the river we were to the left of Pirates, almost right in front of the French Market restaurant. The view was partially obscured by trees, but I'd say we still saw 90% or more of the fireworks. The music and the snow were both there, too. The best part is we only waited about 15 minutes for fireworks and Fantasmic! started about 5 minutes after they ended.

Just as the pp said that watching the fireworks from the ROA is another good spot to watch two shows in one night. But the only problem is that you have to stake out a spot in the sitting area to get the snow after the fireworks.

Another tip to get the snow instead of watching the fireworks is watching the "Wintertime Enchantment Holiday Lighting" show which is SB Winter Castle. There are four shows every night and during the show, it will snow during the "Wintertime Enchantment Holiday Lighting" show. This is another good way to see it snow before the fireworks. The only problem about it is that it will snow in front of SB Castle around the front side of the Hub.

You can still get a front row spot in front of SB Castle for "Believe..In Holiday Magic" fireworks inside an hour before the firework starts at its schedule time. You don't have to get a front row spot for the fireworks, but the front of SB castle will get you the full effects of the fireworks. You can stop in MS walkway and watch the fireworks, but you will have a lot of other people that will be in front of you and won't see the front of SB castle during the fireworks. Another decent spot to watch the fireworks is right by IASWH. Around IASWH, it will also snow in that area.

I second what MVD-m11c said. We just saw the Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks by IASW and although not ideal for fireworks, it is less crowded for snow. Also, the Magic, Memories, and You multi-media show started shortly after the fireworks show on IASW so it is really a great spot.

Enjoy!

I have seen the fireworks from that spot and it is just okay. I forgot to delete that part, but it is one of the least crowded spots to see it snow after the fireworks. Thank you for correcting me emmysmommy. One of the advantages of seeing Believe...In Holiday Magic right in front of IASWH is the projections during the fireworks. I am not talking about "The Magic, The Memories, and You!" segment after the fireworks I'm talking about it during the fireworks.

My soon to be husband and I went to Disneyland at Christmastime last year (which ended up being what made us decide to get married at DL this year in December. 2 more weeks!!!) but we had great luck watching the fireworks because he had to use the restroom! We went to the facilities between the plaza inn and tomorrowland, and when we came out, we were in the perfect spot for fireworks! We got there maybe 5 minutes before the fireworks started. There was even a planter to sit on!
