I don't know of anything anywhere near DL you should be just fine. Rarely do fires get anywhere near DL because they are not near the mountains. Last year it was bad from the smoke, but nothing close this year.
the two fires burning are no where near anaheim. First is near Tracy. approx 6 or 7 hours away.
second is in Santa Cruz county also approx 6 hours away..
The fires you are likely thinking of are much closer to me, I'm 6 hrs away. Tracy is about an hour from me and Santa Cruz is about 1.5 hrs away. You'll be absolutely fine.
thanks
where i live in canada it took 3 weeks to get fires under control. lots of smoke the last few weeks. just wanted to make sure it wasnt near DL thanks again

I live in north Monterey County near Watsonville, and work in Moss Landing, about 5 miles from CSUMB. The smoke smell was noticeable on Friday and Saturday, but really not noticeable at all now. Got a very light dusting of ash on our cars this weekend, but all seems better now.
The Lockheed fire is now 65% contained (as of Monday AM), and projected to be fully contained by Thursday.
Interestingly, the ash and smell were worse in Monterey and Carmel, further from the fire. The wind patterns took the smoke/ash out over Monterey Bay, and then blew onshore into Monterey and Carmel.
I think things will be fine by the time your daughter arrives. My guess is that the fire won't be completely out, but tamped down low enough to not cause any problems.
