Has anyone gone to DL lately? Are there fumes in the air at DL ?

The fires are about 80 miles away, and the winds appear to be pushing the smoke offshore, I'd bet you could be in the park and not know about the fires. I'm not down there, but I can't imagine it being as bad as Oct 2007, when the soot turned the sky orange during the day. Even then, most of the rides were open, and the real problem was the high winds (trees down everywhere).

Please rest assured that the Disneyland Resort is unaffected by the Jesusita Fire currently burning in the County of Santa Barbara, approximately 125 miles (200 kilometres) north of the Resort.

Honestly, you couldn't tell there was a fire unless you heard the news. It was a clear, sunny day in Orange County today. I was up in Los Angeles yesterday for personal reasons and there was nary a trace there, either.

Good to know!

Thanks Psymonds and glendalais. The fires in San Diego even affected us here in San Jose and it left the sky orange for a while. It was so eerie! I just wanted to see if I had to be prepared with a scratchy throat from the smoke. Thanks for all the info :)

Weird you can not tell there is a fire that close to the park, here if there is a fire hundreds of miles away the air is thick with smoke. we get firs every year all over Montana and they effect the air quality all over the state.

80 miles is nothing as last year we had them with in about 12 miles from my house and less than 25 miles from DLR. Disney does not close for anything but severe weather and major earthquakes.

wow thats close. and I can not imagine how my lungs would be after being in that smoke at the park for a week :scared1:

There is absolutely no comparison to last year's fires right now. The Santa Barbara fires are completely not a factor at all when considering Disneyland.

With last year's fires you could smell and even taste the smoke in the air in the vicinity of DLR. There is none of that now.

ETA: Sending pixie dust to any Dis'ers who are affected by the current fires.

As PP have stated, not a problem. We were there Friday and there wasn't even any smoke in the sky.

Have fun.

Yes, fires may be affecting Dl. so please be advised that if you should find yourself venturing into the Caribbean so as to cavort or associate otherwise with it's pirates, that one will see a rather large fire, taking over a part of one of it's local ports.
Also please be forewarned, that at this time in the Caribbean Seas, and in many of it's associated ports of call, that thar be plenty of pillaging and a plundering abound, by scalawags and pirates as well as privateers. Why my family had their private ship taken over by a gang of good fer nothin, smelly scoundrels! They were kind enough however, so as not to make them visit Davey Jones locker, for they were set adrift on their tiny boat instead. The pirates decided to keep my families head cook though, much to the displeasure of my family. However, the pirates were most happy to finally have someone that knows how to cook a proper meal! So it has been said, by those that know.

I was ready to move to someplace far away like Bakersfield or Down the coast to maybe Oceanside as it was very very bad and mom and I were starting to have breathing problems. The Chino Hills fire was the one closest to me and there was one over by Diamond Bar that was probably closer ot DLR. I guess 25 miles as it was 12 to my house and 12 to disneyland. Of course there was no way the fires would have touched us and DLR but last year was the worst fires in the area since probably the pasadena fires. Ash covered everything.

I think there are no fires right now but you never know around here.
