Hello all

I have been looking for a cheap firepit to use While at the fort in June..

I have found this one

kmart.com/northwest-territory-portable-outdoor-firepit/p-089W005397384001P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2#crumbWrapper

And Have two questions..

First is this one okay to use at the fort? From my understanding and research it is allowed since it has a real metal "top" but want to make sure.

Also anyone have any thoughts as to if this will be useful to have (or fun) Just looking to have a fire and or maybe more smores..

I am looking for a cheap one since I will not be taking it home with me (either junk it or see if anyone else there wants to give it a longer life) and its currently on sale for $40 at my local Kmart.

Thanks

1) Can't see of which one you reference.
2) Basically,
. . . solid sheet-metal or solid-cast top and bottom (not mesh)
. . . full mesh sides to capture any embers
. . . on legs, so metal bottom not resting on ground or on a table

NOTE: Based upon time of year or dry weather, even approved pits may be forbidden.

Yea not enough posts to be able to post links

But it meets those requirements from what I can tell in the photo

Interesting comment about time of year... going in Jun and from what I know it rains alot mid day then

Mfisc,

that model you're interested in is VERY similar to models on the approved list.

It is true that in the past times of drought or high fire risks have meant that any fire pit was not permitted to be used (even on the approved list). However, as you point out, the time of year you are interested in is historically wet.
