Fire on Small World

According to our local news, Disney has said that the fire was limited to a backstage area, and the attraction was not damaged. The fire was apparently caused by fireworks.

You all have it so very wrong! The fire spread due to the wilding going on by the Pirates, they were looking to branch out, by seeking new territory. So those stinky bad eggs decided it would be very easy to knock off a bunch of sissy dolls, and take over their land. They almost succeeded too, if it wasn't for those pesky kids and their dog that's more like a person half the time! Lol

I was there this weekend. There's no visible evidence of a fire. It was all taken care of quickly and efficiently. Small World was up and running the next morning.

Wondering if this had anything to do with Disney implementing the the old show rather than sticking with the most recent show that the Techs are used to dealing with.

My DD and I just got off the train by Toontown so we could watch the fireworks, and I was standing right there when it broke out. I took some pics with my cell phone which I have to transfer to my laptop, but it started small, then got bigger fast. The rain helped to contain the fire a tiny bit, and CM were on the scene to douse the flames fairly quickly.

Fireworks for Sunday night were cancelled due to the fire Saturday night.

We were right there when the fire started, too. It was really scary! But small world was ok, and no one was hurt. The cast members handled getting people out of the area really well and there was no panic.

That sounds like a real eye opener man. Must have been quite surreal. You can post the pictures from you cell phone on the Disboards mobile site. Thank you for the post and pictures to be. It must have been a bit scary too. My first thought would have been what on earth? Then .... does anyone need my help, don't care what it might be, for as long as I am useful. :)

We were there Saturday night, watching From Main Street and didn't notice anything. We rode small world on Sunday and didn't see any damage. Didn't even know it occurred

The calendar said there would be a firework show Sunday & there wasnt...could this be why?

Yes that is why. A CM told me that they had to reset the fireworks as well as do a review of the incident and that the fireworks should resume either Monday or Tuesday evening.

A couple of images I took of the incident....

Each image shows the fire progress from when it just started to just before it was extinguished.
